This is my go to bag for winter. Never get cold with this bag especially 20 to 0 degrees. Don’t even try take on warmer temperatures 40 plus degrees. To warm; unless you sleep on top of bag. Weight for bag only (regular) is 3.1 lbs.
Good quality stitching and materials from what I can see. I used this in 10deg weather and was reasonably comfortable as a "warm sleeper." It's on the reasonable end of 0deg bags but pricy for a normal sleeping bag. You get a reasonable value for the price in this instance.
This bag is warm and I am always a cold sleeper it does the job. It’s heavy and bulky but warm. I had to sleep in a minivan every weekend here in Homer, Alaska for work one winter and this made it doable and comfortable.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The bag is cozy and feels soft and warm. However, the stitching is very poor. They use a running or baste stitch on most of the bag which has poor friction. If any part of the stitch is torn, the rest will eventually come out, and quickly. This was demonstrated by one of the loops on the side immediately ripping out the day the bag came in from the mail. I expected higher quality stitching for the pricetag.
I have a slightly older version (2021). I originally bought this sleeping bag to keep myself warm up in the cascades, and this sleeping bag performed beyond expectations. For how much comfort and warmth it provides, this bag is very light. It's not the easiest to pack down, but that is to be expected. I'm 5'11 / 165lbs, and the regular fit is perfect with room to move.
This bag is beautiful but when I received it the box had been torn open and the packing slip was completely soaked, so I imagine it had been sitting in water for a few days as it smelled horrible of mildew, and I had to return it for that reason. It had been raining all week and the package was delayed so I imagine they had it sitting in water for a couple days. I did try the bag out and quickly realized that it was a tight squeeze and I was hardly able to move my hips around in the bag. I went ahead and returned it for an extra wide bag.
I took this bag on a trip to the Porcupine Mtns in September. I’m a 120lbs female, and I tend to get chilly easily, but that did not happen with this bag :) The first night was about 70° and I was in a hammock, I was snug as a bug in a rug. The next few nights were the same temp, but this time in a tent, which was way too warm, but this bag is so plush and comfy that I slept on top of it/used it like a body pillow and it was great. Then the rain hit, and it dropped to the mid 40s. Still in the tent, I was snuggly warm and comfortable in this bag. I plan to use it for real winter camping in the coming months, but I have faith it will still serve me well. One minor thing, it does shed feathers a little bit, but not enough to be annoying/alarming. It stuffs in its storage bag easily. It does not have a strap on the bottom of the storage bag, though, which was disappointing for backpacking. But it is plush enough to sinch some other straps around it to hook to your backpack and it won’t fall out.
Ordered online. I am 6 feet 2.5 inches, 211 lbs. Bought for sea kayak camping. Space in the kayak is limited. My tent is a one man model. I have just a couple inches to spare. This sleeping bag only unzips to about my stomach. Getting in the bag in my tent would be very difficult. And getting out would be worse. Returning never used in exchange for a full length zipper style. In my opinion, very poor zipper design.
