I was very disappointed with these socks and ended up returning them. I was planning on using them for fieldwork in the Arctic, and therefore chose them as they are heavyweight. However, they are definitely not heavyweight; they are comparable a thinner mid-weight sock of other brands. The fabric also does not feel especially nice, but instead like a cheaper sock. The sock does fit true to size. It would be fine as an everyday sock, but I wouldn't use it for any technical trip.
I love these socks! They are lightweight, almost cloud-like. Their cushy texture is just right. They stay in place on your feet and are comfortable in both hot and medium weather (cool weather hasn't happened here yet). Other socks that I've tried have a more rigid structure. I don't know how Bridgedale engineered the design and production of such a soft and yet very supportive sock!
These quality socks are soft comfortable moisture wicking and the size small for my 5 1/2-6 shoe size fits perfectly on my foot throughout the entire sock. I like the fact the cuff of the sock is comfortably looser than some other socks I’ve purchased that were too tight or too snug around the cuff which I don’t like or need anymore.
I was very discipointed in these socks. I thought the quality was very poor, and they were not heavyweight at all! Perhaps they would be good for walking around your house, but definitely not suitable for any exploring. I gave them two stars because I guess they are socks.
Do NOT buy. I should have listened to the other reviews. The material is so cheap, flimsy yarn. Not heavyweight in the slightest bit.
