I like these socks more than I expected. I have a fair number of hiking socks in different weights. I was looking for a lightweight sock for hiking shoes without a high ankle. These socks not only improved the comfort of my shoes by taking up less space, but also prevented blisters compared to my existing socks. They are snug without being too tight; do not leave deep grooves around your ankles after a full day of hiking. The height is perfect, preventing rubbing from the shoe. I purchased additional pairs after hiking in them throughout Moab.
They were a Hiking game changer. My feet were so much more comfortable in my hiking boots then with the socks I was wearing. I couldn’t believe that they made such a difference! Buy them!
This is my 2nd pair of short, wool hiking socks. I have several pairs of crew length but for the summer I appreciate a shorter pair. The foot bed has just enough cushion to keep my feet comfortable while hiking and I always appreciate the wool.
You can't go wrong with smartwool socks! I wear them for hiking, walking, and cardio workouts.
Performance Targeted socks best weight + best fit = much comfort!
I love these socks. I found they run a touch large if your shoe size is on the lower end of the size range (I bought a size large and wear a 10 in sneakers). I really like this ankle height, especially in colder weather and if I'm wearing leggings that don't fully cover my ankles. I was worried they'd be tight around my ankles, as I have larger ankles/legs but they're very comfortable, stretchy and not too tight. The targeted cushioning is nice, but I might prefer zero cushion for wearing in shoes.
Great socks for everyday or long walks/hikes. Superior to cotton or polyester/poly blends.
Love smartwool socks! Well worth the price to take care of your feet!
My first purchase of the Women's Hike Ankle Socks was five years ago. Since then, I keep buying them. They are incredibly comfortable, and more importantly to me, they are warm. My feet are always cold, but these socks keep them warm. I had two pairs and just purchased two more for the FREEZING Cleveland winters. I highly recommend these socks for their warmth and comfort. If you're wondering whether I wear them to hike, I do!
