Fits Everything

I use this pack for day hikes and everything has its place. I store a 40oz hydro flask and Gatorade in the side packets, where are very deep so nothing falls out. The hip pockets I place my phone and keys for easy access. The main compartment has my rain jacket, wallet, sometimes extra pair of shoes and clothes, smaller lunch bag/color for snacks, and my some camera bag. Do keep in mind that this pack is long rather than wide so stack things up accordingly. The easy access things should either go on top or on the outside mesh pocket. It also has its a place for the tread pools and water bladder. I think this is a great 1-3 day pack but for more days something bigger would be needed.

Very small reservoir sleeve

I just discovered that the reservoir sleeve is too small. Have been training with water in the side pockets but wanted to add the weight of the filled reservoir. I have a 2 liter Platypus reservoir. I tried everything to squeeze it in the very small sleeve to no avail—-even after emptying to about 1.5 liters. I think it could fit a half liter, maybe 1. Way too small for a pack of this size. Spent a lot of money on this pack and now I don’t think I will be able to use. I need to carry 3 liters of water. For reference, I have the SM/MD size. Maybe the sleeve is bigger on the larger but I think this is a major flaw in this bag. Very dissapointed!

Not for me

This is a good bag overall, but I returned for a few reasons. First, it is very difficult to get a 2L bladder into the external sleeve. It fits fine empty, but with any volume it is nearly impossible. I tried packing gear differently to allow more room with no luck. I could get the bladder in and take it out, but it was very difficult and not worth the hassle. Also, the back was much less comfortable with the water bladder inside. Just not the comfort I expect with Osprey. I wasn’t a fan of the top loading flap. I probably could get used to it but the design seems a little awkward. The small mesh pocket on the shoulder strap is a mystery. Otherwise it’s a solid bag. If you don’t plan to use a bladder, I would recommend you try it out. Without the water bladder it is comfortable and carries weight well.

Comfortable and light

I'm doing supported multi day hikes. I need to carry all my gear & water for the day and it's perfect. Comfortable. I like the side pockets on hip belt that fit my phone though I do find the zipper on the side pocket a bit hard to open one handed. It might get better with age and use.

Took this on a 17

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Took this on a 17 mile patrol and it is not comfortable. It left bruises on my shoulder blades and very uncomfortable on my hips. I bought it under a pro deal and now I'm stuck with it as it is not returnable under pro deal terms

Very comfortable day pack. Surprised

Very comfortable day pack. Surprised at how much it takes. I'll be taking it to Nepal and had wanted a slightly larger pack but it wasn't in stock in the sale. I'm glad I don't have a large pack, this will take everything I need

No rain cover

Unfortunate that this pack does not include a rain cover. The water bladder storage is outside of the bag, behind the shoulder straps. I am not so happy about these features or lack of.
