Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally relief I have Morton's neuropathy and I need a wider toe box. These shoes fit wonderfully. I have hiked at least 3 miles a day getting ready to go on the app trail and even with my pack on, they keep my feet comfortable. I am so excited to have shoes that feel good instead of pinching my nerve

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shoes Was looking for trim, light shoes with zero rise. These are great! They fit well with an ample toe box. The soles' deep, flexible treads have better traction than other brands I have tried. They are fine on the pavement as well as the trails, giving a more secure grip especially on rainy days. They actually feel a bit bouncy because of the way the sole is made (a bit of a mud catcher - but it hoses right off).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for a hike or trail run! So great and comfortable. Literally bought them the night before hiking Camp Muir and with wool socks my feet were dry and comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helps prevent ankle rolling I was skeptical at first since I have a narrow foot and these shoes have a wide toe box, but the girl helping me explained the stability in being able to relax and spread your toes. Glad I listened and tried these shoes. They are a perfect blend of comfy and ruggedness. My red rock trail run was stable and I hardly rolled my ankles. These shoes are so comfortable that I wear them even when I'm not trail running.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No pain! I love being outside (hiking, paddling, biking, etc.) but my feet have begun to slow me down the last few years (blisters on my pinky toes). When I finally put my most recent pair of hiking shoes to rest, I bought these fabulous shoes. Now I'm up and moving more each day (actually taking more steps according to my fitness tracker). One drawback, the shoe becomes difficult to tie with the addition of my foot orthotics (in the shoes). I am very satisfied and happy with my purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Narrow Toe Box I am deeply disappointed in these shoes. I have bunions and have been trying to find shoes that I can wear with my Correct Toes toe spacers for natural toe splay. These shoes are advertised as having a wide toe box, but that is not the case. While it is true that the toe box does not taper as much as most shoes, the width at the ball of the foot is narrow which defeats the purpose of a wide toe box. Now these will be returned just like the long line of shoes before them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Go back to the old design, please This model has been redesigned since last year. It still has the wide toe box, but it's narrower across the ball of the foot, so the wide toe box is worthless. Superior has been my go-to, but I returned these. Please undo this, Altra!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best shoes I've ever purchased. I bought these shoes about two weeks ago after spending several months trying to find a supportive & comfortable shoe to start running in. These are amazing! I thought the zero drop would take longer to get used to after my previous trail runners were about a 10 mm drop, but the transition has been so easy. The support is great too; the cushioning takes all the impact away from my feet & joints, without the shoes feeling heavy or bulky. Previously when running, my knees felt like they were taking all the heat, my hips hurt, & my heels would throb both during & after a run (all signs I wasn't wearing the right shoes for me). With the Altras, I actually enjoy running & I'm able to run farther than before because my body feels good, & my feet are so well supported. These are by far one of the best purchases I've ever made at REI, & the Altras are the most comfortable & supportive shoes I've ever owned.

How does the sizing compare to the Superior 2.0?

Asked by: Cascade
The 2.0 ran about half a size too small, and the 3.0 now run true to size. So the 3.0 are fitting about half a size larger than the 2.0.
