I bought these during the sale when I was looking for either Altra or Topo. I had Topo Pursuit previously which I liked, but the newest version had very short laces, almost not tieable even for a narrow foot. The Altra timp 6 is definitely narrower than the Lone Peak which was too wide for my foot. Otherwise they run true to size in length. I like the light blue color for summer. They seem a little stiff but feel comfortable walking. The laces are a good length and are flat so they stay tied. I hope they will be durable unlike my previous Altras which wore out quickly in the soles.
Very nice fit, I like the wide toe box and the sleek look of the shoe. The detail along the side is cute too. The color options are great. They are perfect hiking shoes.
These have Altra's signature roomy toebox but with more cushion than their more "natural" signature shoes. They can be snugged up around the ankle and heel so the fit isn't sloppy. They accommodate socks of various thicknesses for me and have been comfortable for two outings (5 miles and 2 miles) so far, despite my issues with bunions, and intermittent problems with capsulitis.
These shoes are great! I appreciate the extra room at my toes that this particular shoe provides. I have bunions and this shoe provides the comfort and support I need.
I like these a lot. I sized down a half size and it worked out well. The cushion is comfortable, they seem to be holding up wearing them outside everyday, and the support is great- so all things considered so far- I love them.
The wide open toe box seems to have eliminated my blister worries. I wear toe sock liners and Slim trail socks, both of which fit comfortably in these shoes. The springy insole is energizing.
New shoes! I like these new shoes I purchased. There is more padding in the soles and that seems to help when I am walking and exercising. I really noticed the difference when I went back to my old pair.
Found my new fav!! Not quite a zero drop, but a 'low' drop, which is perfect for me. And just enough cushioning to be very comfortable...and of course, the large toe box...is PERFECT!!
I'm so bummed about these shoes, because the Timp 5 was my absolute favorite. The new gaiter hook attachment is tricky (for me), since it's now just a slit in the fabric. The main thing though is that these gave me blisters on my heel after a 4 mile walk. They've changed the heel and not for the better, or at least not better for my foot :(
I've worn these for 19 miles total, all for mostly short hikes. The last two times I noticed the right shoe was rubbing painfully on my heel, and now I've got a blister. The sad thing is that I LOVE the Timp 5s, and wear them regularly on my long runs. Whatever they did to the heel on the 6 just isn't working for me. Also, less importantly, the gator attachment point on the front of the shoe is no longer metal, now it's a slit in the fabric. It is SO much harder to use now, I really don't like the change!
