Altra  Timp 6 GTX Trail-Running Shoes - Women's

I happen to find these in store discounted. I normally wear a size 11 women's. I have low volume, low flat arches ( pancakes not sausages for feet, lol) . Depending on shoes i sometimes need my Rx orthotics bc of plantar facetious in left foot. Strangely enough, the size 10 in the BLACK WITH PINK BOTTOM in TIMP GTX fit???!!! I had previously been running in Altra olympus 5, men's size 10, and currently use Topo's trail vista, women's sz11. Definitely a surprise these TIMP GTX fit in a women's size 10???!!! Since i have a narrow-ish foot i wouldn't recommend these shoes to high arches, high volume wide feet. These fit me snug width wise. And vertically there's no much space either. i can't pinpoint what i didn't like about fit it just didn't feel right, like yeah this is comfortable. Maybe a 10.5 might have been better but the 10s did fit even at higher pace and downhill no toes touching or rubbing. It fit even with my Rx orthotics inside. I definitely think my usual sz11 would've been too long. Maybe this pair is a factory defect? Idk But i think overall size on this color and model runs long but narrow. Comparing: The Vista is for me a softer midsole, and helped with mileage hurting my knees. Much more bounce or energy return if you like, lol. I figured no more Olympus for me. But after 4 months of light use of my vista, my neutral running style started feeling my left foot to dip inward, i think thats pronate(?). So the Vista midsole seemed to be breaking down. Topo has built in arches, so when i tried to put in my Orthotics my feet rolled outward. Time to look for shoes...again. So its weird these women size 10 fit. I ran a couple miles gentle slopes, easy trail. Ill be returning the Timps GTX bc The EGO MAX midsole is exactly the same as the Olympus but a thinner amount. so it literally felt like the same shoe- my old dead retired Olympus. Flat, no energy, but works great with orthotics. The search continues heavy sigh.

Haven't really broken them in yet, but super grippy sole and comfortable except for a little chafing on one of my ankles. Since they are gortex material is not as flexible. Hoping this issue will go away during the break-in process.

I tried 3 GTX trail shoes (Lone Peak 9, Lone Peak 9+ and Timp). These Timps fit in my usual size 8. 5 and fit fine except they come up a little higher on the sides and rubbed my ankle bones so I kept the Lone Peak 9+ in size 8 (the Lone Peaks run bigger).
