The chest straps are not adjustable up/down so.... basically, as a woman, it wasn't a good fit. I'm 5'8" about 160 and C at the chest for reference. Really liked everything else about this pack but unable to keep it because it was so awkward around the chest. Those 2 straps should be adjustable for women to customize! Or make a women specific running pack, that'd be cool.
I purchased this pack to use as a general purpose backpack for traveling. It easily fits into a carry-on suitcase, or duffel bag, and is very comfortable (considering the lack of padding). I recently used this on a trip to Portland, and it worked equally well in the city, and on the hiking trails. You can easily fit multiple layers, food, water and small electronics (phone and camera) into it, and hardly even notice it. PLEASE NOTE: I didn't run with the pack on, so I can't give you any feedback on this use. Also, it does not have a water bottle holder, so you'll need to either use a hydration bladder, or put your bottle inside.
I bought this so I could shorten my commute by running instead of walking. It looked small at the store but when I started loading it up I found the capacity to be perfect for my needs - I can fit pants, a top, my kindle and a slim box of girl scout cookies in the main compartment with room to spare (if packing shoes I'll go for flats and a lighter outfit). The showers at the office provide toiletries but I could easily fit a couple of travel sized bottles. The pouch on the left strap that is meant for shades is perfect for my iPhone 5s, cards and cash so I never have to unstrap to get to my essentials. There is a small zippered pocket inside the main compartment that was actually meant for these types of items when in non-urban environment. There is a pocket not shown in the picture on this webpage that's on the flap closing down on the main compartment. I keep my huge wad of keys there but there's plenty room for say a beanie or any small secondary essential. There is, of course, a pouch for a reservoir, which I intend on using even when in the city. I don't know for certain, but based on appearance all the compartments seem waterproof, huge plus. The zippers are all water resistant at the very least. How's it feel when I'm running? I've never owned a running backpack before this so I don't know how good this is relative to other running backpacks, but the design and feel of this backpack is so amazing that I don't find myself wondering if there's something better out there. It's The ONe. The straps are configured in such a way that tightening and loosening is a breeze while on the move and the pack is snug but not constricting. I LOVE the teal color and moss green accents. This is probably one of the best purchases I have ever made because of product quality, versatility, appearance values of the company, reasonable price and how well it has suited my purposes and needs. I'll definitely be taking this on hikes as well and making use of the reservoir pouch.
I bought this pack, originally intending to use it as a light ski-pack, for a weekend trip to a ski resort. I put a 3-liter Camelbak in the water reservoir pocket, but the reservoir was slightly too big but doable. I would highly suggest a 2-liter reservoir. I originally bought this bag to carry water and an extra layer. It will hold the 3-liter water pack, but you will need to extend the outer strap pretty far and it takes up quite a bit of space in the bag when full. It will also hold the extra layer and other clothes without a problem. The main reason why I will return this product is that it doesn't sit comfortably on my back. As mentioned by a female the straps are a little uncomfortable in the chest are. As a male, I'm about a 42 in the chest and I tried this on with 3 layers and noticed the pack wouldn't sit as high on my back as I normally prefer it too. I would really like to see shoulder adjustments to pull the pack up higher, and the rest of the width adjustments still made the pack seem pretty snug.
I bought this bag because I was in the market for a packable daypack to take on long hiking trips. I wasn't impressed with the bags that are labeled as packable but then I found this one, which is flexible enough to roll up in pack and still has padding for your back! It's great for day trips. I like that it comes equipped to support a hydration bladder, and still has enough room to fit other necessities. It's very comfortable too.
Before this bag I would run (literally run) errands with a 25 liter patagonia bag I use for school. I fully tightened the straps and accepted that I'd have to retighten them every couple blocks. Now that I have this bag, wooowwww what a difference!!! Its like a second piece of clothing. Now its not just for errands, I wear it for all my longer runs. Perfect as Im training for my first marathon. As far as sizing I'm female 5'9" 160lbs with 33" bust. I tried on both sizes and went with the small. With the large, any contents in the front pocket would jab me in the rib. Two things that could be improved: The straps loosen a bit taking it on and off. Its more tricky to adjust while running because of the stretchy loops that hold the straps. Also I wish the strap compartment could hold a phone more comfortably. Most the time I take my bag on and off Im grabbing my phone.
I bought this pack for commuter runs home from work. It's pretty roomy and holds enough. Unlike other women, I like the way this fits me and I find it very comfortable.
