Comfortable for long runs/marathon training
I bought this for my long runs/marathon training to carry water, gels and other items. I have an adv skin 12 for hiking which is super comfortable, my favorite bag. The real only issue I am having with this s/lab sense 6 is the bungee cord straps are thinner than the adv skin 12 and leaves cut marks across my chest on several occasions. I don't have any pain or even notice until I go to change my clothes. Any one else having this issue? This bag is my correct size, same size as my other bag. I tried moving the bungees around for different placement, but the bottom part of the cord still leaving slice marks on me. Maybe thicker cords are available as a replacement? Kind of a bummer for this to be happening.
Comfortable but also cutting?
I purchased this for long distance running training. Already had an adv skin 12 which is my favorite. For whatever reason this bag slices my chest or bottom of my ribs, the quick link does. I have tried adjusting several times. I don't notice the cuts until changing my clothes? I think the thinner bungee quick links they include? This is pretty much my only issue with the bag. Maybe thicker cords like my other bag would be better?
Perfect All Around Running Vest
I’ve been running in S/LAB vests for several years, and the S/LAB Sense 6 is easily my favorite yet. I also own one of the smaller S/LAB vests, which is perfect for winter and late-fall runs when I don’t need to carry as much hydration. What impresses me most about the Sense 6 is that it feels almost as invisible while running, despite offering significantly more hydration capacity and storage. The fit is outstanding—secure without feeling restrictive—and the vest stays comfortable whether I’m heading out for a short training run or a long day on the trails. The additional storage is thoughtfully designed and easy to access on the move, allowing me to carry everything I need without the vest feeling bulky. As an endurance athlete, I’ve become very selective about the gear I trust on long runs, and the S/LAB Sense 6 has become my go-to vest for nearly every run. It’s one of those rare pieces of equipment that simply disappears once the run starts, letting me focus on the miles ahead.
Different Style than Previous Models
I had a Salomon SLAB 5L vest from 2022 that I put over 12,000km in 3 years, and own many other Salomon vests from that era. I've done close to 500km in this new model so far and I will say that I am fairly disappointed in the new design decisions that they have made. The main one being the main back pouch is too small! In my old 5L vest I was able to fill it up with jackets, pants, gloves, hat, extra food, headlamp and still have room but since they've shrunken the main compartment, I can barely get a pair of gloves and a headlamp in there. There is the lower bottom pocket but that pocket I have found to be way too awkward to be wearing the vest and shove anything into it such as a jacket, and its too open to have food or gu's in them. I had my food randomly flop out on runs if I put it in the lower back pocket. Now for the front pockets. On the old models the front pockets use to have two entry points each, one near the water bottles, and one to the side. Now on this model there is just the water bottle entrance which makes things extremely difficult to get out and awkward with a full water bottle. I've done 20000km in Salomon vests but I am sad to say that this new model is a step in the WRONG direction.
