I have worn this shirt exactly once. I wore it on a hike a couple weeks ago. I sweat, as one does, while hiking. After taking off the shirt at the end of the day, I noticed the armpits had gotten bleached. I purchased the shirt in black, and the armpits are now a completely different color- tan. The shirt is fine as a baselayer, but as I work in the outdoor industry I can no longer wear it for work as I intended as it has visible pit stains and I do not consider that professional. If you are considering this shirt, just buy it in a different color. I included an image.

I really loved the fit and the color of the product. WFH has made me really appreciate fabrics. Maybe I am sensitive, have the wrong size, or used to my favorite comfy clothes but I did not find it as soft as I would have liked. It was a touch itchy. I find that I do not reach for it because of the itchiness in the arms. The base layer is tight in the arms and fitted throughout. I thought it was going to be more of a crew sweatshirt than a shirt. It fits much tighter than the hoodie. I worn it on a hike this weekend and it definitely kept me warm. It performs better in an active setting but I would not wear it just sitting on my couch and watching TV.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a wonderfully soft merino base layer for really cold days. I live in a warmer climate, and usually use the merino 150 base layers, but I will definitely appreciate the extra warmth of the 250 on some of our coldest days, or when doing less vigorous activity (hiking instead of running, etc). The merino is extremely soft against the skin, and the unique dye pattern is a fun touch. This base layer fits true to size, but it is a slim, against the skin fit. If you prefer the fit to be a little looser, you may want to go up a size. Overall a great piece - well designed, well made, feels like it will last a long time and will definitely be put to good use this winter! #smartwoollove
I have several Smartwool base layers and this was the first from the plant-based dye series that I've tried. I loved the pink tie-dye look so I gave this base layer a try. After about 5 hours of wearing the top, I had a contact dermatitis skin reaction (I have very sensitive skin - I'm allergic to latex, colors and fragrances in detergent, etc). Wherever the fabric made contact with my body, I had a diffuse red rash. I did not have the rash where my bra made contact with my skin or on my legs. After I switched shirts, my skin inflammation and redness started to decrease. I'm not sure if the plant based dye process is different than the standard Smartwool process and perhaps why I had this issue.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This base layer is perfect. It runs true to size, but if you are in between sizes I would size down It is soft against your skin, not at all itchy, and does what it's supposed to do! I wore it on a cold morning jog, and I stayed nice and toasty and DRY! The color is beautiful. I can't wait to wear it again all fall and winter long! #SmartwoolLove
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At first I wasn't sure about the color of this top because even though I like pink, it seemed to be a LOT of pink to wear (especially since I'm currently quite pregnant!). I like how the plant-based dye lightened it up a bit, though, and the marble wash helped to keep the color from being too overwhelming. I'm currently an XL, and this fit perfectly. I've worn it both casually to work and when hanging out with friends, and also while doing an outdoor (chilly!) yoga class in the ever-unpredictable Michigan fall weather. (I was surprised how warm it kept me during the outdoor yoga class!). I typically wear it with a neutral colored puffy vest and matching pink athletic shoes, and I have gotten multiple compliments on the top. People always seem so surprised that it's Smartwool! I love how soft it feels against my skin as well. Haven't had any trouble with washing it, but I do not typically put any of my Smartwool gear in the dryer--all about that line drying! :) #SmartwoolLove
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wore this top 3 days in a row: on an urban adventure, a lounge day at home, a hike, and to sleep in. I like to get this shirt a little large so I can also wear it as a sweater. I have a few colors in Large, and the sizes do vary a bit. The sleeves are slightly long but provide extra warmth for my hands while hiking in breezy fall conditions. Wool's no-stink quality is a real plus! I really like the raglan sleeves for my wider shoulders. The rose marble wash is a pinkish/peachy color-not my favorite, but the marbling softens the color so it works for me. The shirt is soft, just not quite soft enough to want to sleep in it every night. I really like the versatility of this shirt, and I hope other colors become available in the plant based wash. #SmartwoolLove
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a perfect winter base layer top and I strongly recommend it to everyone. It is incredibly soft against the skin and is thick enough to get you through a whole winter day outside. I can't wait use it during ski season. The new dye pattern is amazing. The coloring is strong and did not fade after washing. It is worth noting that the sleeve length is on the longer side which could cause a little bunching under layers if you have short arms. #SmartwoolLove
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the fact that Smartwool is using plant-based dyes, and I love the shades of pink. The shirt feels soft and fits perfectly. The weight is just right for a first layer on a chilly day. I would've given five stars, but my concern is the left sleeve has "Smartwool" written in two-inch high letters from the elbow to the cuff. I didn't notice this in the photos when I bought it online, and wouldn't have purchased a product with such a huge advertisement!
Liked the fit, look and feel of this 250 shirt so much that I got the hoodie, too. Got the dark-colored one, and it's become a go-to item; the hoodie too. The dark tie-dye blends with many colors; denim, black, grey, dark olive, white.. Keeps me warm and has room for a cami and tee under--or a lighter, 150 long sleeve underneath when it's really cold. Happy I got it!
