I ordered the Smartwool Women’s Classic All-Season in Pistachio in a Large. The color is cheerful. I am returning it because it showed the nude-color bra I was wearing, way too thin for warmth, and it was baggier than I like. I’m 5’6”, 37” bust, 30” waist, 45” hip and I think a medium would have fit better.
I neved had wool shirts before. Ordered long and short sleeves from Smartwool and Icebreaker brand. All of them have the same problems. First, you can see through the top. Second, they are very itchy, doesnt't work for sensitive skin. Icebreaker is more softer, but the shirt has more then 50% of synthetic, thats why. Smartwool. The Smartwool ыршке gets static electricity as well.
I mean…I wore it twice, loved it each time. But unfortunately, I just pulled the item out of the washer (washed on delicate and laying out to air dry) and the seam looks TERRIBLE! It is literally DIAGONAL across the shirt. I looked at photos both on REI as well as SmartWool’s website and it doesn’t look like this is how it should look, at all. It’s also bothering my OCD so I will be returning it. Doesn’t make sense to pay $115 for a shirt that is garbage quality. Amazon has better shirts than SmartWool.
Comfy shirt. I recently jumped into wearing wool due to travel & not holding smells. Comparing to a couple others: Tasc is a bit softer & I really like the thumbholes and a slightly looser fit at the waist due to the cut. REI merino 185, it is also nice, but seems a bit scratchier than these 2, not uncomfortable, just noticeable. I'm 5'3", 135 lbs. Usually wear a small or medium to ensure the long sleeves are actually long. This shirt is a great fit for me in a Small. I wore it several times over a weekend and no lingering smell was really impressive.
I bought two (charcoal and the purple-ish one). They are very comfortable and soft. For reference, I am a size small/6 top (36c), but I always have to size up at REI. I bought the large as the medium was very fitted, and I wanted it to be slightly roomy for comfort. I wanted to purchase the black one, but the material was much thinner than the other colors. I now understand what some of the REI reviewers were talking about regarding the material being thinner than before.
I live in Florida, it’s summer, and I’m wearing my long sleeve, Merino smartwool! I got the tie-dyed rose color. This shirt is great for making transitions from inside to outside, with limited time outdoors. In Florida I freeze in the grocery store and restaurant I am looking for a way to deal with the air conditioning. I like that wool handles odors well. I’m trying to find the right sustainable options. I have a lot of tech shirts and I love tech material but I do tend to feel like I’m wearing a lot of plastic and it is nice to have a natural product like wool.
I got this. I love how ball cut shirts look on me, but its very thin and is shear. it also hugs your waist. Meaning your pant line, navel, it outlines everything. I know it's a base layer. It fit perfect over by bust and shoulders. the sleeves were also super itchy and irritating at the elbows. I couldn't spend the day in it. Returned it.
I am new to smart wool clothing. In the past the sight of the word “wool” would result in me feeling itchy! I bought the beautiful bright blue top. Smart wool is not itchy! I went on a long cycling ride for 3 hours in rain, wind and cold. The Smartwool shirt and socks were a dream. I am definitely a fan and recommend buying!
This was my first Smartwool purchase, and I wanted to be sure so I went into the store to try everything on. Actually tried on several brands, sizes, styles and colors. The Smartwool felt so great I didn't want to take it off. I wore them all through Alaska and continue to wear them while hiking around the Midwest. They are comfortable, light weight and warm - and not hot. It's the perfect mix. Couldn't decide between two colors so, I bought both!! Highly recommend.
Absolutely love this lightweight base layer! It’s soft and adds just a little extra warmth under my other tops. I’ve even worn it by itself with a pair of jeans. I’m 5’9” and 130lbs and bought it in a size medium in black. Great fit and the sleeves are a perfect length. I’ll buy another if I can find it in a white color.
