The fit, warmth, and breathability of this shirt are unmatched! I’ve worn it countless times for hunting-where I have long periods of high impact activity alternating with sitting in temperatures that range from <10-30°F. The zipper helps for high cooling during hiking. I’ve also used it for hiking during travel in the western US. Unfortunately, the zipper pull broke and, while I was able to still use it for a few times after that, it’s now stuck open and I need to buy a new one. I have since purchased the I train it version, which is warmer, and has a smaller fit, (I have M in both.) but I like this version better, with the exception of durability.

My favorite top for hiking in cooler weather. I like this as a layer under jackets in colder weather, or on its own for those in-between days.

I bought this to help get through the early fall rainy season here in Fairbanks as a long distance trail runner, and it worked better than expected, not only keeping me warm when it was damp, but I was able to keep it on without over heating on long runs when the weather shifted and warmed into the upper 50’s. That surprised and delighted me. In Talkeetna, a damper climate, the race started at 49 degrees, drizzling fog, and ended at 60 degrees. This little merino was a fabulous comfort. I am a 64 year old runner, and am out longer than than young athletes. I need your good gear because I am out longer. The fabric is much thinner that I expected and the shirt runs a bit small especially as compared to the smartwo t-shirt in the same size which fit perfectly.

Lightweight merino with a body hugging fit. I like the color and nice to cycling, hiking, fishing and camping. Tight enough weave to help keep bugs away.
