I'm a dude and these actually fit.
So I'm a dude. I'm 5'8 219lbs. I squat 425 so I don't exactly have small legs. However I bought these by accident thinking they were a men's large. They were in fact a women's medium. Thinking this isnt gonna work, I tried them on anyways. To my surprise they fit me. Because they are a 4 inch inseam, they fit about half way up my quad so no restrictin there. Because there's no inside mesh, my you know what aren't actually being squeezed like some men shorts. I actually cut them out. The pockets are actually big enough to fit a phone or wallet. Although a women's medium is a size I never would buy, these actually fit and are comfy.
Nice and comfy
I really like them when I roll the top once over because otherwise they leave a little baggy-ness in the butt area. I have a small butt so maybe will be great for women with a little more :) the green color is a bit weird but I kinda like it. Great for hiking, casual biking, or climbing.

I love the quality of these short. Material is very thick. Seems are perfect. Zipper pockets on the sides are flattering. Perfect shorts! I wish more colors were available.

Great fit and very durable material- would be good for hiking and other activities. Great length without being too short or too long, great pockets, do not ride up. Wish there were more colors to purchase!
