Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and Âľ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Granola wardrobe essential
These shorts outshine the Patagonia Baggies in every way. They're comfy, flattering, go with everything, and the pockets are the real star of the show. The 5" inseam is very flattering (even on my short legs) and more importantly keeps my thighs from chafing. I bought a size XS and it's been extremely comfortable to hike in, but I might buy another in size S just to have a looser pair for being extra comfy. I want these in more colors! Green or a dark rusty red would be amazing.
Great lightweight shorts
These shorts are relaxed fitting and very comfortable. They have a nice length to them not too short but not long either. And they didn't ride up when I was walking. The material is lightweight and I think it would dry quickly if it got wet. The color was a nice light blue. I wore them on a hike and was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable they were. The pockets are large and there are many. However I was disappointed that none of the pockets had a zipper. Other than that they will be a staple for summer.
Pockets for days
The thing I’m obsessed with about these shorts is the pockets. Finally women’s shorts with actual pocket space! The main front pockets go all the way to the bottom of the shorts - almost my entire forearm fits. The smaller front pockets are big enough to hold my phone with plenty of room to spare and the back pockets are a similar size. I’ve been using these primarily for biking, but they’re also solid shorts for walking or hiking with my dog. The pockets make it so easy to carry treats, my phone, bags, and whatever else. Much to my dog’s pleasure, one pocket holds up to 8 tennis balls (see attached photo). Besides the pockets, I was overall pleasantly surprised by these shorts. I tried a pair of REI brand shorts about 5 years ago and was not a fan of the fit, but I have liked these shorts a lot so far. According to the size chart, I’m somewhere between a M and L. I went with large because I prefer my workout clothes to be a looser fit. These fit nicely and have plenty of room, so I think a M would have worked, too. Like most shorts, they ride up a little on runs. The shorts are a nice lightweight material that dries fast and doesn’t get soaked with sweat easily. They wash well and have just enough stretch, though if I had gotten the medium I would probably be wishing for more stretch. I like a 4-5” inseam because you can usually style shorts either low or high waisted. The adjustable elastic waistband + 5” inseam on these makes that possible. I have the blue color and they definitely look like workout/hiking shorts. The brown or black might be able to get you to a more casual look.
The pockets!!
These shorts are the perfect lightweight short, but still have structure that makes them feel nicer than other sorts of “swishy” shorts. Plus they have 6 full pockets! I love the detail of the adjustable waist elastic to ensure they stay put as I move around
I LOVE these shorts
I bought these shorts primarily to wear on El Camino de Santiago, but also because I felt they were cute enough to wear day to day. For the hiking trip, they worked perfectly. They were comfortable, lightweight, didn’t ride up, had plenty of pockets, and rapidly dried when I was heavily rained on while on the trail. Highly recommend!
Fantastic fit + great pockets
Material is perfect for water sports and hiking, light weight and breathable. High waist fit and drawstring help them stay up. Super deep pockets are perfect for a large phone while still being able to hike uphill. Buying in another color!
Comfy!
Just get them. I am pregnant in my second trimester and needed comfortable shorts for a hike and my morning walks. These are so fresh and comfortable. I was hesitant since most of the reviews say the shorts ride up, that wasn’t an issue for me. I have issues with shorts riding up, chaffing, all thick thigh issues but these shorts weren’t an issue. The pockets worked great. I bought the black and green pair.
AMAZING with so many pockets
Went into REI to buy patagonia baggies but came out with these and love them for the following reasons: 1. waistband fits better and more high waisted than the baggies, and the para cord drawstring is a nicer mechanism than a tie. The fit is overall more flattering in my opinion 2. HUGE pockets - in total there are six pockets and the normal side pockets are massive 3. 5 inch inseam is great for my girlies who have chafing problems 4. fabric feels lighter and more quick drying. Haven’t tested out getting wet or sweaty yet, but I have high hopes 5. little paracord loops are a nice touch if you want to hook your keys or anything on your shorts for a quick hike for reference- 30in waist, 43in hips, 36in bust and I usually wear a size L/12 in pants
Need an size between M and L
I bought a pair of these a year ago. Size large. At the time they were roomy enough that I didn’t feel restricted. Today they feel too large. So I ordered another pair in a medium. The M fits, but it’s strange how big of a difference there is between the L and the M. It would be nice to have an in-between size.
Lots of deep big pockets!
The shorts have multiple and deep pockets which I love. This is my second year buying them and they’ve had no changes from last year. The material is light weight and dries fast. I was looking for a short that is not to short and found they are an appropriate length. The waist band is thick and doesn’t squeeze to tight but snug enough they don’t slide down and have an adjustable strap in case they need to be tighter. I just wore them on a 8 day trip to Costa Rica and I don’t think I’ll ever switch back to any other shorts!
