Saw this skort in a marketing photo on Cotopaxi’s website and scoured the internet to track it down at REI! I am a BIG fan of all their Blue Smoke-colored clothing (it’s a very flattering periwinkle in real life), and I had to get this skort to match two tops I already own. I love the color and pockets, the functionality of the “skirt in the front/shorts in the back” design, and the high waist fit. One teeny gripe is that the built-in belt isn’t totally adjustable; depending on how much you loosen or tighten it, the buckle will be off-center, which inflames my OCD. Overall, can’t wait to wear it this spring/summer! It will get used in heavy rotation.
I was a little nervous about these because I have larger thighs that tend to “eat” my shorts. While that still does happen a little bit with these I love the “faux skirt” look because that way it’s not as noticeable if the shorts ride up and I feel like it kind of naturally keeps the shorts from riding up as much as they do with regular shorts. I think with most brands I would normally be a medium but ultimately I got the small and I think they’re the right size so I would say that they run a little bit large
It was probably silly to try a completely new clothing item on a 18 to 19 mile backpacking trip for the first time. Can I say this was so incredibly comfortable and I’m going to buy more and other colors I’m 5’3 and 150 pounds. This fit perfectly around the waist and did not ride up. I’m absolutely obsessed with this item.
I absolutely love the styling, color options, functionality, and quality of this item. I ended up buying every color and paired them with a Sombra Sun shirt. Skorts were my fave when I was a kid and now that they’re back in style, I’m stocking up. Skort life ✌️
This is the perfect summer skort for those who love to camp / hike. A good amount of pockets for keeping my items easy to get to. The built in belt is SO convenient. I was able to tie my shoes to a belt loop while walking on the beach. I tightened the belt and had no issues with sagging. I brought other bottoms on my camp trip, but ended up living in these for the majority of the time. It was raining out all day, and my skirt felt dry ?! Even once I set them aside to dry out. Felt like it took no time. 10/10
I absolutely love this skort—it's incredibly versatile! 😁 The first time I wore it was at an adventure park with my dog, which had water access just for pups. It dried super quickly, and any mud that splashed on me wiped right off. Whatever remained came out effortlessly in the wash. Plus, it's seriously cute! For reference, I'm 5'6", 135 pounds with an athletic build, and the small fit me perfectly. 🥰
Once a year I make it to a Cotopaxi store. I recently bought a skirt online and wasn’t sure about this skort when I saw it online at the same time, but when I tried it on in the store I loved it. The fabric is indestructible and it fits so well. I love the belt that can be adjusted for a perfect fit and the pockets are deep enough to be useful. I’ll be using it on my hiking trip in the UK next week.
5’3. 5” H, 105-110 lbs, petite built. Good: Comfortable, easy to move around in. Worn to short hikes and still looks decent for causal dinner hangout. Can be better: the belt is sewn in on one side, better if not and belt is free to adjust both directions. Front and back pockets are good but can use additional security (Velcro or Zipper) and can be large (none or the pockets would fit phone).
I tried this squirt out for a backpacking trip to Indian bar where it’s almost 8 1/2 to 9 miles there and back. I was a little nervous about trying new gear, but this skirt was so comfortable, the shorts did not write up, and fit perfect perfectly.. I’m a little bit curvier and petite in height. I’m 5’3 and the medium fit like a dream. I’m already going to order it in another color.
I bought my first Brinco skort in the pink color, wore it over a 2-week trip in Portugal with steep hills, stairs etc and this skort was so incredibly comfortable. I’m 5’7, 140lbs and bought a Medium. It stayed looking fresh, not wrinkled in and out of my suitcase and I loved the deep pockets too. At the end of my trip, I ordered my 2nd pair in the purple color.
