The shoes are off by 1 size and Not 0.5 size. I have extremely narrow feet for a man, and I wear size 10. Even if I had ordered 10.5 shoe, they would still be too small by another half size. Not sure how did the Salomon manufacturing team got the shoe sizing this wrong. This is why I dislike shopping online for shoes and slides. The manufacturing date on the shoe is 03/23 and it’s now 03/25. 2 year old stock? Other than that the shoes are lightweight, outer sole is solid and lace system is convenient.

Out of the box and for the first wear the shoes were good and comfortable—I really liked them. Unfortunately, I got them wet and they changed. My first time wearing I jumped into the river to cool off while morel hunting. Afterward, I dried them in the sun. Next time wearing they were much stiffer, the toe box had lost contour/volume, and the seam above the heel puckered in one shoe. All that tallied up to make a shoe that’s very uncomfortable. Worn them a couple times for around the house type things and they’re barely bearable. If I’d known they weren’t meant to be submerged and air dried I’d have taken them off—or at least got a mock foot to insert while drying to keep their form. Really disappointed.

I needed to go half a size up to accommodate my feet in the narrow toe box. However the fit is excellent and the shoes do the job perfectly on the coastal trails that I run. These have been used in all conditions and have performed perfectly. No issues at all.
Extremely comfortable and stable for mixed terrain. Comfortable for short medium road runs too. Fits smaller than other models by a half size. Only gripe is that sand and debris can collect between the goretex and the mesh at the toe box.
I bought these because Solomon has a good reputation and I wanted to replace my Merrels. I wear 10.5 normally so I bought them in 10.5. When I got them they were a little snug but it wasn’t too uncomfortable so I didn’t think much of it. Yesterday was my first time being physically active while wearing them and I was extremely uncomfortable to the point where the big toe on my right foot was swollen when I took them off. I also cannot stand the lacing system on these shoes. It is 100% inferior to traditional laces. If you’re going to buy these shoes, go up half a size.

The tongue is just too big. I can’t handle all that unnecessary fabric bunching up on the top of my ankle.
In my experience, Salomon is one of the few brands that still prioritizes exceptional craftsmanship in their shoes. I'm a huge fan of their products. I currently own the Sense Ride 5 without Gore-Tex and now have these as well, and I must say the quality is outstanding. The durability and comfort of these shoes are unparalleled. I would recommend considering sizing up, but of course, that can vary depending on individual preferences and foot shape. Overall, I highly recommend these shoes to anyone looking for top-notch quality and performance.
I have two pairs of these, gore-tex and non-gore-tex. Today it rained and I finally took these gore-tex versions out of the box. When I first received these, I was concerned because they were slightly tighter than the non-gore-tex version when trying the two versions on. Having a medium wide foot, some shoes can be a bit uncomfortable over time. Luckily, taking the chance paid off for me. On my early morning walk with the dog, well over an hour and many steps, they became more and more comfortable as the walk went on. My feet stayed dry and happy all day, even after I used them for two additional walks in the rain. I like them I hope others will enjoy them as much as I do already. I have many Salomon products and I'm super happy with all of them.
Only run about 15 km in these so far but finding them to be even better than my old Sense Ride 3s (that I wore out). Loving the Energy foam sole that gives more bounce than the SR3. Do wonder if it will be as durable but time will tell. I had to buy a half size larger than usual as the SR5 seems to come up smaller than other Salomon footwear I have purchased in the past. Now I have the right size they are comfortable, responsive and well put together. The GTX keeps my feet dry in the wet UK weather. Very happy with these shoes
Value to me is a company that offers quality products (even the hard to get expensive lines) from time to time at PRICES that me and my budget friendly friends can afford or at least willing to spend money on when quality like this is offered. I have had these and last years speedcross 6 for months now and MY value is in the comfort and quality that still there. Bravo to a company that knows its customers and has affordable products from time to time and yes had a great carbon footprint! Keep it up Salomon
