Yes , I recommend this product
I have been in several pairs of the Ultra 3 for a number of years. I bought these because the Ultra 3 wasn't available in my size. I do a lot of running (fast hiking) on jagged high alpine mountains and figured the extra sole padding would be good. I was right. I was a little concerned about the added hight to my Ultra 3 but I haven't had any issues. They have been durable with good traction, I would definitely buy again.

Comfortable but caused me to have Achilles pain
No, I do not recommend this product
These shoes I wore on a 50 K event since then my Achilles have been in a lot of pain I’m not sure the difference but this is the only shoe to cause issue that has ever caused this. I run thousands a mile a year I do Spartan competitor , ultra 50 K 100K Miles these shoes are the only issue ever to caused me to have Achilles pain. I’ve sent the shoes back. I will never purchase these shoes again.

Just finished a 53K in these shoes
Yes , I recommend this product
I just finished a 53k ultra in these shoes, and they were the least of my worries! held up throught the 4months of training leading up to the race and got me through all the climbs and multiple knee deep river crossings. The shoe held up well to all the rocks, climbs and decents! Highly reccommend.

Major foot pain
No, I do not recommend this product
As soon as you run on uneven ground the side of the shoe digs into your foot causing sharp pain. I couldn't make it more than a mile today, I'm extremely disappointed. I looked into it, and found out this is a common problem with these shoes.

Exceptional Ultra trail run performance

Fits me super well and has perfect amount of cushion for my large frame. Completed several 50k ultras + training and they still have a lot of life left, however, find the laces need retightening during runs more frequently of late.

Great but some improvements needed
I bought two pairs at the same time. One pair is noticeably narrower than the other. I've also previously purchased and often the eyelets often break.
