Salomon  Spikecross 6 GORE-TEX Trail-Running Shoes

As a trail runner, I went through the speedcross 3 to the 5 and enjoyed the massive lugs, lightweight material, protective and ergonomic fit around my ankle. Salomon took these brilliant characteristics of the speedcross and added them to the spikecross. The waterproofing is superb (especially when using the Trail Gaiters High) if you are planning on being in deeper snow. The spikes cling to snow, slush and ice with ease without you having to worry about slipping while keeping a consistent pace uphill AND downhill. Great product for ice running!! I wear a 9 in the speedcross and a 9 in the spikecross felt no different.

I bought these for trail running in Alaska during the winter and they’ve been amazing. I feel so secure running on the snow and ice. My feet stay nice and dry as well.

This level of traction is excellent. In the competative sport shooting world, this is the king of footwear. Thanks Salomon!

I hike with them in the mountains of San Diego California and love them. They provide amazing traction on rock, gravel and cobblestones. I also hike with HOKA Speedgoat 6 trail runners, and they have very decent traction, but nowhere near as much traction as the SpikeCross GTX. The tungsten tips hold up well on the hard surfaces. I have approximately 100 miles on the shoes and have negligible wear on the spikes. I bought the shoes by accident and didn’t use them for 2 years after the purchase thinking they would not work well on hard surfaces. Wrong. It’s like having the footing of a cat on steep rock surfaces and slippery gravel. Excellent protection from rock strikes for the toe box and heels. Very decent cushioning too.

Have owned many pairs of Salomons over the years, but this is the first pair of spiked shoes I have purchased. Was tired of stretchy rubber solutions, so gave this a try. Works very well, highly recommended. Comes with 12 spikes, I ordered some additional studs and put a 13th stud in the middle of the heel, does help considerably with rear heel slippage. Users, don't be shy about adding studs to these if you want more ice grip. Great shoe and looking forward to using these more next winter!

I have owned many Salomon products over the years. The last pair of speedcross 5 winter spikes lasted 3 years! I live and train mostly in Alaska. Most of my training is trail. These have been put to the test with many hundreds of miles with no fail. Feet still warm and dry, all spikes intact. This new version Speedcross 6 spikes is a welcome addition! Feet are dry and warm, aggressive tread and spikes work perfectly. Thanks Salomon! Please don’t ever discontinue this model!

A mild winter in Canmore with less ice than usual. However I used these several times and was glad of the confidence they gave me. I am not a runner or jogger, but a 85 year Aquaziser who use these, as do many others, to get to the pool through an icy car park. I was surprised with how narrow they are. They fit me but I have a narrow foot, some ladies can not get them on, unfortunately. Strange as these are in men’s sizes, usually too wide for me

I use this footwear on tallus slopes, snow and ice covered logging roads and open frozen fields. The shoes have remarkable tread on snow, ice and frozen ground which has allowed daily access on snowy surfaces. Possible improvements include tacking at least one side of the tongue to the shoe to avoid having to pull the tongue out while sliding the foot wear on. Also the eleastic laces catch on brush occasionally. Really like to unisex width.

Have had these on for multiple runs in Vermont this winter, a snowy one to be sure. They've kept me upright on terrain where I had fallen earlier in the year before getting these. Love the quick lace adjustment, the fit is good, if not running sliggghhhttly large but hard to tell if it's just the difference between my main shoes and these. I may try a half size smaller next time around to have a more secure heel in these.
