[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These running shoes are fantastic. They fit perfectly, and the adjustable laces make it easy to get a secure, customized feel. I’ve used them on sugar sand, gravel, dirt trails, and pavement, and they’ve performed great on every surface. They’re incredibly comfortable and lightweight, even on longer runs. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a versatile, reliable running shoe.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was impressed with these shoes right out of the box. Light weight, true to size, with a cool lacing system. These shoes have great energy return with every stride, while still being stable. Most running shoes with a tall stack lack stability to push your speed, but not these. Also, the design is great for preventing dirt and sand from getting into the shoe with a trade-off being breathability. After about 25miles or so, I don't really notice any wear, even the tread is holding up. I'll definitely be shopping Salomon again for my footwear needs.
Just got these from REI and my first 4 mile run was so comfortable and peppy. The midsole foam is such a nice balance of responsive bounce and soft feel but not squishy. I had to try them after watching so many positive review videos. They run a tad narrow but the length is true to size. I run between a 10 or 10.5 and I got the 10 and they fit well. The laces take a little time to get used to but once secured they stay in place perfectly. I usually like shoes with a lower drop but the 8 mm feels more like 6 to me. Great shoe for travel when you might get to run on trails or road.
As someone who runs road, dirt, aggregate, etc, and does cool down walks through a neighborhood old growth forest, these are absurdly perfect. I'm 5'11" 160lbs, ex-D1 soccer, really just do long slow/er paced runs and micro-moments of speed work, and these are genuine game changers. I wear a Nike 10, Hoka 10.5, I got these in a 10.5 and they fit nearly perfectly. Perhaps be prepared to add a little extra ankle padding since it might cut into your ankles around the opening. The lacing system is fantastic, just pull up and then forward and you're good. Surprisingly good cushion, support, weight distro and breathability. 8/10
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These shoes look great! Very comfortable and maximum cushioning yet still supportive while jogging a mixed terrain hiking trail. Like my other Salomon shoes, these have a quick lacing system that holds tight and is quick to put on and take off. At first I was worried about having enough stability because of how much cushion these have but somehow these shoes provided great lateral support while taking them out for a jog on a moderate hiking trail. Love these shoes so far!
Took these out to a 10K race in Pioneertown, CA this past weekend and LOVED them.
I love these shoes! There’s nothing about them I don’t like. Sad I slept on Salomon for so long
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After logging approximately 60 miles in the Salomon Aero Glide 4 GRVL, I’ve come away impressed by its versatility and overall performance across multiple surfaces. Fit & Comfort The shoe fits true to size and strikes an excellent balance for runners with slightly wider feet. While not marketed as a wide shoe, it provides enough room to remain comfortable even as feet expand during longer runs. The toe box volume is particularly well-executed—spacious without being loose—eliminating any issues with rubbing or bunching. Midsole Performance The Optifoam 2 midsole delivers a soft, cushioned ride while maintaining a stable and responsive feel. This combination makes the shoe especially well-suited for longer distances, helping to reduce fatigue in both legs and feet. Upper & Lockdown The upper material wraps the foot in a sock-like fit that feels breathable, lightweight, and secure. The gusseted tongue adds to the overall comfort and stays in place throughout runs, while providing just the right amount of padding. The lacing system is equally effective, offering a strong lockdown without creating pressure points or discomfort across the top of the foot. Outsole & Versatility Equipped with a durable Contagrip outsole, the shoe performs reliably across road, gravel, and light trail conditions. After 60 miles of varied use, traction and durability remain strong, reinforcing its all-terrain capability. Minor Drawback If there’s one improvement to be made, it would be the addition of a heel pull tab or back strap to make putting the shoe on easier. Overall Impression The Salomon Aero Glide 4 GRVL stands out as a highly versatile and capable running shoe. Whether you’re transitioning between road and gravel or mixing in light trails, it handles each environment with ease while maintaining comfort and performance over longer distances.
Great on light gravel and no offset terrain, caliche outcrops or desert rocks. Great cushion, good roll, pretty good lock down when you adjust the cheaper lacing system 3 times. But, off canter, gully jumps and big rocks are a no go! I really think it's just too high of a stack. I have been able to put some good miles on this shoe on sandy or light dirt terrain. And, it will pick up the pace pretty well. But, this is not a true off road shoe IMO. Have about 80 miles with little wear, I'm 150, and it wears true to size!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Like the look and initial feel of this shoe. The stack hight is fairly huge and its a very comfortable and responsive ride. My issue is with the upper and the tongue. I found it difficult to get a secure fit (too much lateral movement in the shoe for me). In addition, the one-piece tongue had an issue for me, I had a continuous hot spot on the top of my ankle, despite adjsuting tension on the lacing system, I just couldn't get it comfortable.
