The absolute best!

I am in love with these shorts. I am in the outdoor industry and hike all day every day, and these are a dream for summer temps pushing 100 deg. They are SO lightweight and comfortable, and the baggy retro hiking style is on point. I found them to fit pretty big (I am currently a 16 and the XXL was almost too big) but with the belt it doesn't matter, although next time I will probably size down. I love how lightweight the belt is, it's secure but you can barely feel it. Also love how stretchy and non-restrictive these are, they're perfect for stretching, hiking, climbing, or just wearing all day every day. Can't wait to get these in all the colors!

THE BEST SHORTS FOR THIGHS

These are my favourite hiking shorts to date. They are such a great length for preventing chafing and hardly ride up (if they do, it's one side at a time NEVER both!). The material is waterproof, provides some stretch and they stay comfy for long days in the heat. I also like the adjustable belt as I can loosen to get over my hips but then tighten it to fit my waist. I have worn these on several backpacking trips, during fieldwork and under my waders and still love them! (I have them in four colours now!)

Every Day Shorts

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been wearing these shorts every day for every activity- sprinting in ultimate frisbee? Perfect. Yoga class? Yup. Hiking or casual neighborhood walk? The best option out there. Sitting at desk working from home? Excellent choice. The material is amazing, the color choices are so cute, and the pockets are stellar and function so well. I'm obsessed with these shorts and not kidding have worn them every day since purchasing, so glad I got 2 pairs!! Even my husband says they look good!!!

The shorts are amazing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's very hard to find women's shorts that are hiking, compatible and loosen nature that don't cause chafing I don't love that I can't move the belt that's internal, but I do love that it has a belt that's internal so that you don't have to wear some thing on the exterior of your shorts. These are long enough that your thighs don't shave but short enough that you don't look like you're wearing men's cargo shorts I bought the medium and I am 56 and a very athletic 160 pounds. In the other Ferrosi, short canvas type material, I am a small, only because the waist sits higher and it's not really for athletics so much as it is for day-to-day use. After research is consistently my favorite brand! If I didn't need to restrict any clothes I bought from them I would definitely buy more than one color of the shorts!

Not a fan of the changes

I am a HUGE fan of the Ferrosi shorts of the past. I own almost every color from 2018-2021. I am not a fan of the changes this year, specifically that the waist went from button-up with drawstring to elastic with a belt. They sit a bit higher on the waist than I prefer and compared to the previous model. Maybe consider bringing back the previous style in addition to this new style. I am sure this new style is more inclusive, but I definitely do not plan to buy more of this current style. I also do not like that they went to generic sizing vs actual pant sizes. The new colors and material are great. I am 5'5 and 165lbs and I purchased a medium. The medium is 8/10, it's snug getting up around my hips, but that is my normal size all around. Overall, the quality is there but the changes are not great for me personally.

Love these!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed another good pair of hiking shorts and these definitely fit the bill. Sure, the pockets are great and all but let's get real. There is room for my thighs! The length is perfect for me, as I am on the shorter side and long shorts are, well, too long. The material dries fast, is airy and durable. They survived butt-sliding on slickrock. Not a big fan of the belt buckle, however it is not uncomfortable under a hip belt. Will purchase another pair!

Runs small!

Sizing is inconsistent with the size chart. I ordered a large and find them overall small. My measurements are 30” waist and 42” hips; I typically wear a size 10/size 30 in denim. I expected the hips to fit small, but stretchy fabric makes it ok. Waist fits almost a size small. Leg opening is very fitted. Overall rise is low-to-mid, especially in the back. I may exchange for XL to see if the sizing fits more appropriately to the measurements given.

Mostly good, some comfort issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have worn on several hikes / backpacking trips in VT, CA, and CO. I like the lightweight fabric, long inseam to prevent chafing, and bright contrasting colors of the belt and shorts. However, I found the waistband scrunched and rubbed under a backpack. The thigh openings are also a bit tight for someone with athletic thighs-an extra 1/2 to 1 inch would make them more comfortable for long days of wear.

Great fabric, questionable fit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ordered these for my wife after falling in love with the men's version. The women's version waistband DOES NOT stretch, and rides up. Great material, but it's really too bad they didn't just use the men's design. While my wife loves them, they've been relegated to casual use only. She was really frustrated comparing my shorts against hers - why the different waistband? It's not better.

Looser thighs are a plus!

These shorts are a great improvement for actually fitting my more athletic thighs (i.e., not suffocating them) compared to previous versions. However, I wish that there was a button and zipper closure option like older versions for these shorts instead of the elastic waist. Overall, the fit was good, just wished the design was a little bit different.
