Better than Hoka Clifton 1 IMO

Ran in Ghost 9-11, then swtiched to Hoka and ran in Clifton 1, 6, Bondi 6 and now back with the Ghost 14. I felt for years the Clifton One by Hoka was the best road shoe I ever ran in even though it was narrow in the toe box for me. Now after 43 miles, from super easy warm up miles, to tempo pace for several miles I must say I feel the Ghost 14 has now taken that number 1 spot from the Clifton One. 14's have plenty of room in the toe box, good cushion and feel without being too soft in the sole, the shoe feels very stable as a running platform, and generally speaking my feet and legs have taken to the 14's very well. I have not done a long run longer than 7 miles in them yet, but up to 7 miles the shoes felt and performed great for me.

Long term fan of Ghost 12, 13 & just got my Ghost 14

Best shoe to fit wide wide feet, but Brooks really cut quality on the Ghost 14 compared to my Ghost 12 & 13. It has terribly cheap laces, barely padded undersize tongue and overall cheap construction is very disappointing. I included pictures of my 12, 13 & 14 demonstrating tongue & lace and quality decline. I don't expect this shoe to outlast any of my earlier versions that are still in rotation. I love the sole and stability - very solid and comfortable. I wish Brooks would revert back to the quality upper materials used in the Ghost 12 and just sell at a higher price .. I would definitely pay the difference to restore the quality.

Need some understanding

Well bought these shoes again back in DEC 2021 and have been great just like the Ghost 13, but just like the Ghost 13 after 2 months they broke down on me again. (See pictures) both shoes 13 and 14 both did this and while these were the best shoes I have worn when working on concrete at the hospital for my job. Don't see how after 2 months this happens or understand it for the money that you spend. Hope Brooks sees this and can explain it.

Ordered new shoes - one seems used.

Shoes seem fine and were shipped really fast. But I bought new shoes and I appear to have received slightly used shoes. The left shoe has 2 marks on them which appear permanent plus there is a scuff mark on the sole. I don't think it affects the shoe but it would be nice to receive new shoes since that is what I ordered.

I feel these fall short of the 13

I’m honestly a bit disappointed. I took off a pair of 13s and put the 14s on and the 14 just isn’t as comfortable. The material doesn’t feel as breathable. The 13s almost felt air conditioned compared to these. The sides are stiffer on my feet than the 13s. The sole doesn’t feel as cushioned. I have another less worn pair of 13s in my closet that I tried on for a more apples to apples in case the current 13s I had on were just broken in way more but the less worn 13s were still much more comfortable. The new ones also feel heavier. If I were coming from many other shoes the 14 would feel great but comparing it to the 13 it falls short for me.

Tongue design an issue

Up until now I have always been happy with Brooks shoes. However, at some point it appears they decided to redesign the tongue on their shoes and as a result, I cannot in any way recommend the Ghost 14. The tongue was redesigned such that it rests on the upper foot/ankle joint. It rubs and is extremely annoying. So far, it hasn't caused pain....so far.....but it makes the shoes very uncomfortable. I'm hoping that as they break in, this annoyance diminishes. However, getting to that point is going to be difficult to do, as wearing them is not pleasant.

Highly disappointed

Guys!! I am such a Brooks fan! As a physical therapist of over 20 years I send my patients to you for quality footwear, because I know it performs! However, the recent pair of Ghost 14 shoes that I purchased are not like the previous Ghosts I’ve worn. Whatever change you made, please reverse this, or I will have to search for a new shoe. Normally, a new pair of Ghosts feel perfect to my feet. I can usually get 2 months of wear, before I begin to feel the achy knee and low back. With the new pair of ghost 14s, they do not fit my feet well. My feet feel tired within an hour of putting them on. I trust and believe in your brand. Please correct this. Thanks.

Surprise

Recently i have tried many running shoes and brands. Ghost 14 is the best. I have wider feet, and i require more room in the shoe. No other brand has offered this to me. Ghost 14 might not be the fanciest or modern looking, but the quality of everything else blew my mind. The cushioning is on really high level. Not too plush, not too firm, exactly what is needed to stay uninjured !!! I am also surprised that the shoe runs faster than i expected. Maybe its the 12 mm drop that makes you steeper platform, or its the comfort which makes you forget about the shoe. I am glad i discovered Brooks (in europe they are still not so common)

Comfortable. Dubious durability.

These are really comfortable shoes, that needed no breaking in. I loved them the second I tried them on in the store, and they were good to go right out of the box. I bought them primarily for walking, not running, so I know I'm not exactly the target for these, but after less than a month of owning them, walking the dog at a brisk pace 3-4 miles every day on concrete and asphalt, the tread on the balls of my feet are worn down to bald already. The rest of the tread seems good, and the uppers look brand new. Like I said, I'm not buying them for running, and maybe my walking stride isn't exactly what these are made for, but at the cost, I had hoped to get more than a couple of months out of them. Not sure I'll replace them with another pair of Brooks. Bummer.

Amazing shoes for walking!

Amazing shoe. My team at work were doing a June step challenge and I was struggling to get out of last place. I have flat feet and I was getting shin splints like crazy. I decided to buy these Brooks shoes because I heard they’re good for flat feet. These are so comfortable! My shin splints went away and I ended up in 2nd place for the step challenge! Not too shabby all things considered. Brooks recommends you size a half size up but for these particular shoes I found my normal shoe size to be absolutely perfect. Just the slightest bit tight at first but I quickly broke them in and now they fit like a glove. I think I’m a Brooks fan for life after wearing these.
