[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchase this tent, I set it up in my garage by weighting down the corners to allow the tent to stand, during the process the screen on the tent ripped along the top bar connections, i'm not sure if the tent had a hole initially and they why it ripped of it it was manufactured wrong and was to tight. Regardless of that, i have wrote Gathr outdoors twice now and have yet to receive any response back in regards to a warranty for this tent. im very disappointed at this time with the lack of customer service i am receiving. My previous experience with buying higher end products is the customer service is impeccable, But this is not the case with Gathr Outdoors. I really hope to hear from someone soon so i can return my tent and get a new one to actually be able to use it.
I really wish that I read this tent was not free standing prior to purchase. I primarily use tents in the high sierras where tent stake use may not be an option in the hard packed soil with rock. My last trip out I had to find rocks to hold my stakes down for my fly. If I had this tent at the time, I don’t think the rocks I found would have been enough to hold the tent flat. If I could return it, I probably would, and purchase a free standing tent. But I the site doesn’t look like I can. If you camp in an area where tent stakes are easy to use, I believe this tent will be very nice due to its ease of set up and space inside.

I would highly suggest using this tent several times before going on your backpacking or hunting adventure as there is a steep learning curve to the set up which is exacerbated whilst in the dark . It is definitely cozy for 2 average sized gentlemen to sleep in, but it is doable. I used it 3 times now on backcountry elk and mule deer hunts and it has held up. Definitely buy more stakes to complete the set up process. That being said the weight, cost, and durability make this tent one of the best for spike camp. On a side note I did not use this tent in the snow but it did withstand several thunderstorms and high winds well.
Held up in serious rain storms x2 in national parks without a leak while other tents in adjacent campsites didn’t fare so well. Moderately difficult to assemble. I don’t know if it needs more directions or needs a more straightforward center pole system but was helpful to watch a video beforehand. After retiring my MSR system this was definitely a different level of setup. It’s reasonably lightweight- was good for our family but with 3 young kids we haven’t ventured into backpacking trips yet with them so used it for car camping. The footprint that we purchased separately was key. Overall, quite pleased.
This tent is excellent for 2 people, enough room for gear and sleeping space. I really like this tent as it lies right in the space where I am comfortable trading weight for tent space (5.5lbs). We found out that it keeps water out and in, very well. After being setup during a thunderstorm we were able to sop the tent floor out, without more coming in. Not quite the expected use of the vestibules, but they worked great. I gave this a 9/10 as the setup isn't intuitive, but decently easy even so. The footprint is downright confusing, but stays under the tent, so I won't take anymore off for that bit.
Well built, innovative "stuff" sack, really trick piece of equipment. Setup is a little finicky the first time, but not bad after. This tent should hold up well for a while. Pros: 1. Light weight 2. Roomy, I'm 6'5" thank you for thinking about us tall people 3. Should do very well for 3 season use Gripes: 1. If you want to offer something on expert voice make sure you have the accessories in stock, in this case the footprint was out of stock. I would not use this tent without a footprint, so I bought one elsewhere. 2. Tent stakes, why did you not include enough for all the tie outs? 3. Plastic clips on the poles make me nervous, I'd want a replacement provision available.
I love this tent. 4 person is a stretch unless all side sleepers due to the side shapes, but 3 person it’s fantastic. Probably could fit 4 if we were spoons. Packs easy and for the size the tent, the weight is not bad. The poles are aluminum though and are bending. Takes a hot minute to figure out how to put together as instructions are not great. Once you have the hang of it, it is a fast assembly and fast to pack. Does need more stakes and is not free standing, which sucks in terrain that stakes are not possible. It is pricey, but worth it if on sale. Looking at the two person if it ever goes on sale.

The tent was the best value weight tent I could find. It performed well at 12,500 feet. Once you set it up once, it is easy to use. The roll up bag is makes it easy to take down and pack. The fly cords are great design. The fly covers the tens 100 percent so no corners are showing. I will definitely try to use just the fly on a trip next summer. It had room for two adults and packs, the vestibule was great extra space.
