Very Fragile Screen. Good battery life without GPS
I want to love this watch. The battery lasts almost a week (when I don’t use GPS) and it has a lot of features I like, however there are a lot of issues. The UI is a bit clunky and slow sometimes, the lack of a physical button is really annoying (can’t press it with gloves on and no tactile feedback if the firmware is slow), you can’t add music without a separate premium streaming service, and most annoyingly, the screen is the most fragile glass I have ever encountered. The glass hangs up over the metal edge a bit so it catches on things really easily and shatters on the edge, sending lines of breaks across the face as well. Fitbit won’t do anything to replace it.
Everything they advertise
Upgraded from the original Versa. Screen is awesome, I can read it in bright sunlight while wearing sunglasses. GPS has been super accurate on my bike rides. Syncing with Fitbit app on my phone flawless. The "button" has been talked about in several reviews online, in not so good terms. It is a touch sensitive slot on the left side and after experimenting I was able to find how it works for me. Also, use of the button is almost never needed - swipes on the screen do almost everything I need. Notifications from my Google Pixel 4 phone are awesome - personal emails, work emails and texts. More than pleased...
Great Watch, Terrible Tracking
I really like the design of this watch (excluding the horribly uncomfortable band it comes with), and the OS, app, and functionality are all really great. Unfortunately the heart rate tracking during workouts is atrocious. It's consistently 10-30 bpm below actual heart rate as measured manually and by another confirmed accurate tracker. If you browse the Fitbit forums you'll see this is a big issue for all newer Fitbit devices, primarily the Versa 3 and the Sense. If all you want is something to measure general activity, this is probably a great choice, but if you actually care about heart rate accuracy and workout zones, this is a really poor choice. Planning to return mine.
Didn't last
I have used Fit Bit watches for many years. As a matter of fact my 11 year old grandson is still using the second one I ever bought. The last two I had lasted for less than a year each. The company provided a replacement but the replacement didn't last more than 6 months with proper care and use. They won't replace the second defective watch. I had hoped these two watches were flukes but without the company standing behind their defective products it is not worth the risk of my hard earned money. I can see one defective watch-but the replacement was also defective and didn't last a year? That's concerning. I am sorry to see the quality and workmanship of their products are no longer what they used to be. Nor is the guarantee to provide a quality product to customers. The warranty may have been outside the scope of the original purchase but if the replacement doesn't last you would expect the company to stand behind their product. I will be moving on to another brand.
Avoid this model until further notice
My wife recently purchased one of these units and had to return it because it fails to accurately measure the pulse rate. It was showing only a slight difference between her "at rest rate" vs. the rate during her workouts. She raised this issue with customer support multiple times before they finally admitted that there is a "known issue" with this model and they asked her to kindly wait (indefinitely) for the fix. Apparently hundreds of users are having this issue. Now she's having to pay for the return shipping to get a refund. No more FitBits for us!
Love the Versa
This is the third and my favorite Fitbit I've owned over the years. The Versa is a big upgrade from the Charge 1 and 3 I had. I love that I can SEE the display, even wearing sunglasses in bright sun. I have accurately tracked swim laps and bicycle mileage with it, as well as steps, heart rate, etc. I haven't used all the "smart" features yet. Just being able to see the display outdoors is awesome.
Syncing is irregular
I have to reset this at least once every 2-3 weeks. Otherwise it stops communicating with my phone. And when you reset there is a possibility of losing previous day's data especially if you don't pay attention to whether it is continuously syncing. And of course to reset it, Fitbit's website is worthless. I had to find a Youtube video on how to do it (there are a few).
Buy your Fitbit at REI
I needed a new Fitbit as I start a specialized fitness program. The Versa 3 exactly meets my need. I've had it for three weeks now and it's great. I was thrilled to see it available at REI. As a member and as a fan of coops, I'm happy to buy it here rather than Amazon.
Love this watch
Great battery life. Fitbit has an awesome app which most Garmin users MUST overlook. The Dashboard on their website will tell you more info. Fitbit>Garmin for walkers, swimmers and especially runners.
Trash. Prime example of a disposable watch.
Purchased for my mother (in her 70’s) to replace her Fitbit Versa 2, which lasted less than a year before failing. This one made it 2 1/2 years… She liked the function of both watches, but they seem to essentially be disposable. She did NOT swim with it, no abuse of it, she’s not exactly into extreme sports, and neither of them lasted what a watch should last. This one is being replaced with a Garmin. I will NEVER purchase or own another Fitbit.
