Sturdy Sneaker

Solid construction with good materials and a sleek minimalist profile. I wanted an athletic shoe that I could wear everywhere; these fit the bill. I usually wear 11.5 in Danner boots and sometimes a 12 in running shoes. I fit well sized down to an 11.0 in these shoes. The toe box is more narrow than most of my other shoes but the knit material allows a flexible comfort. The heel cup has a nice curve for a prominent heel, the elastic ankle entry is comfortable with large donning loops, and a solid Vibram sole means these puppies should provide a reasonable service life for indiscriminate abuse as all-around kicks. So far I have been very satisfied.

issue with REI not the shoes

Little did I know that when ordering shoes online at full price, there’s a chance one will be shipped a pair of shoes in a plain, non-manufacturers box without any padding around the shoes. That’s exactly what happened. I could understand a clearance shoe, but not something I’m paying full price for. And when brought back to REI (in store) to exchange, I was essentially told they can’t guarantee it won’t happen again because of “reasons.” Ultimately I ended up just returning these and repurchasing from a different retailer and they were actually $40 cheaper there. I’m becoming more and more hesitant to shop at REI these days.

Good Looking Shoe

A very good looking shoe. The toe box is a little wide but still comfortable. This is definitely a casual shoe. The sole definitely has good traction, but the midsole is too soft for any long walks or easy hikes. When I first put them on they felt very promising, as the sole was firm and comfortable. But after a few days of wear, just walking the dog, the sole lost a lot of its firmness, especially in the heel. I will keep them as they are good looking and fit nicely. I'll just do my walking in my Oboz shoes.

Very comfortable, fit like a glove.

Great sneakers, I like the elastic ankle covering. Very comfortable right out of the box. No break in period. Vibram soles are excellent. Needed a half size smaller than my normal shoe size.

SHOES NOT BOOTS

Snug fit initially, loosening up a little with time. Like the style: not too "boot-ish", comfortable casual shoe. Wore them on a three day trip non-stop during waking hours. Heel loop protrudes enough to catch pant cuffs sometimes. All in all, I'd recommend them to others.
