All black because emo 🖤
Let's face it, they're all black, with more black on black. My emo heart loves them, and my feet feel great after standing for 8 hours straight. The improved toebox area was a major factor in trying these out as the old ultrarange ran tight in the front. There's room for my toes to breathe now. They seem to be holding up really well and clean up easy enough after running them through the dirt all day. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the insole still hasn't been improved, it's still a single piece of vans insole foam. That's my only gripe with these. Durable, lightweight, flexible, and grippy.
Another solid iteration of the ultrarange series
I have worn vans for years but as I've gotten older I've had to quit wearing classics/skate style shoes due to comfort. I'm a bigger dude at 6' 200lbs and regular vans are hard on my knees/low back. The ultrarange series solves that problem with a more comfortable and supportive shoe. These are not quite as comfy as the Neo VR3 but close. They're a little more sleek and stylish too. My one complaint on these is the color is not accurately depicted in the product photos for the black/white pair. It almost looks grey in the photo, and the laces are definitely grey in the photo. They are definitely more of a true black color in person and the product photo does not depict this accurately.
The comfiest Vans yet
These are the ultimate "old man Vans." Okay, I'm not that old, but at 38 I do like my shoes to have a lot of support, heel height, and cushion. I love the style of all Vans shoes but had drifted away in recent years as the classic slip ons and skate shoes no longer felt comfortable in the era of Brooks. Enter the new UltraRange. These shoes feel as if Brooks or Skechers made a Vans shoe. Perfect support, lightweight, tons of cushion but not too squishy. The perfect shoe for the millennial or gen Xer not willing to sacrifice their cool factor for comfort, or for anyone who wants an extremely comfortable pair of vans with a taller than normal heel.
Most definitely
First off I've always wore vans. Honestly, my first pair was the Rowley XLT, back when I first started skating. Plus you know you gotta have the slip on and then I even had a pair of half cabs. But now that I'm in my late 30s I'm not skating as much but I have to say these are the best pair I've had so far. I mean the comfortability alone when wearing them the concerts, walking with the kids, even jogging with my wife is amazing . I love them.. even at 38. I'm still rocking a pair of slip ons be these are my go to everyday shoe.
Wanted to love these
Vans fit are an anomaly to me. Some styles in a M12 fit while other times I wear an M13. Unfortunately my local store didn’t have any in either size to try on so I went with a 12. I mean, I can get my feet in the shoes but they’re tight all the way around. They’re very narrow and the toe-box is very pointy. Now I’ll have to return them :(
Prefer the EXO over the 2.0s
I personally prefer the Exo over the 2.0s. The newer version feels heavier, less versatile, and honestly, not as stylish. While the 2.0s might be a bit more durable, part of the beauty of a good sneaker is wearing it down over time—putting in the miles, letting it show some character, and then grabbing a fresh pair when it's time. What made the Exo stand out for me was how it hit that rare sweet spot: lightweight, stylish, flexible, and comfortable, everything I want in an everyday shoe. It's hard to find a pair that works for almost any situation and still looks good doing it. That's why I was disappointed to see them pulled from the shelves in favor of just the 2.0s.
Decent and Comfy
I really wanted to love this shoe as it is the cushy comfort. Overall it's a decent shoe. It did rub around my ankles which I've never had happen before with sneakers. So I moved the laces down one hole and it made the shoe a little too loose. I'm bummed the tongues don't have that loop to put a lace through cause the tongues move to the side without the structure of being attached to the laces. And whilst it has a comfy squish to it, I have high arches and there's not much support for that. They're super cute, but can't replace a good walking shoe. More like comfortable shoe for an office causal job. #sweepstakes
Great everyday shoe
I would recommend going a half size up if you have wide feet. I have wider feet and usually wear a 10.5 but ordered up to an 11 as I heard these were narrow and they fit great. Super comfortable shoe, feel like I could wear these all day for numerous activities. My only complaint is that the collar of the shoe is lower then I prefer. They ride low, similar to a normal vans skate shoe (maybe a touch higher) but from the photos it looks like it would go up a little more. Overall, great shoe.
Most definitely
Honestly, I've always wear vans first pair I ever got where the Rowley XLT, back when I first started skating. I've had slippers still do even had a pair of half cabs. These are the most comfortable I've ever had from going to concerts walking with the family. Even jogging with my wife comfortability alone is amazing. PS this is the second review I had to do, I'm not sure if the other one uploaded. #Sweepstakes.
Nice but misleading picture
These are comfortable and I have enjoyed wearing them so far. However, the picture of the black shoes with white stripe on the site is very misleading. The picture makes it look like there are grey tones in the shoe and the laces but there are not at all. It's just completely flat black. I still like them but I'm pretty disappointed by the misleading picture.
