Outsole Issue
I have 2 pairs of these, the Talc and Dusk color. They are pretty comfy and fit well and are great as an everyday shoe, however, after just under a month the outsole in the heel has worn down. I’m interested to see how they will continue to wear, but I’m disappointed that the outsole wore out so quickly . Otherwise a good shoe!
Great barefoot shoes
I really like Merrell's barefoot shoes as I've had a few pairs of Vapor Trail Gloves over the years. I switched it up this time with the Wrapt Sneaker because I wanted a more casual look. I love the look of these shoes I bought in blue. My wife made fun of them, she thought the color reminded her of Grover or Cookie Monster from Sesame Street. I'm 50, so I don't care what she thinks. I think they look cool and I've gotten compliments on them from others. Mostly, people this the sole is cool how it wraps around onto the upper part. They're great and I would buy again (in same color)
Happy feet
I bought the dark cherry women’s in this style and they were so comfortable I wanted the blue but blue not offered in women’s size 9 so I purchased a men’s size 7.5 and they fit perfectly. I can wear this all day. So lightweight. I am 72 and don’t wear sneakers but these make my feet and hips and back happy.
Wrapt sneakers are awesome! Great for disc golf!
I'm rating the Wrapt sneakers. I have both a blue pair with tan soles, and a white pair with black rubber soles. They are wonderful. They are extremely durable (much more than any other barefoot style shoe brand). They are comfortable, almost like a skateboard shoe, but with the grip of a trail runner. I play a lot of disc golf and these are perfect for that. For me, the rounded edges of the sole works much better with disc golf than the squared off edges of your typical trail runner (e.g. Adidas Terrex). Plus the toe is much more resistant to toe drag wear.
mixed performance
I bought this shoe recently because I wanted a comfortable waterproof walking shoe.I took it on a trip to a city that was expecting rain showers during my week long stay. It is waterproof but could use a little more cushioning to make it better for wearing all day. My main complaint is the sole of the shoe. It's fine on pavement or gravel but tends to slip on metal or painted pavement (like in pedestrian crossings) I nearly fell at least half a dozen times until I finally learned to avoid walking on those surfaces. For that reason I would not buy this shoe again.
It's not "barefoot"
Shoes fit well but there was way too much arch support to consider it a real barefoot shoe. Soles are pretty thick, which is fine but it definitely didn't feel like a true barefoot shoe coming from the vapor glove. I really feel the arch support on the outside of my foot which has lead to some pain as the shoes (or my feet) break in.. hopefully will get over it soon.. Otherwise the shoes are of good quality and the grip is good. They seem like they will get some good life. The tread knobs on the sides aren't as bad in real life as they seem in the pics.
The Killing Seam
I have been wearing Merrel Barefoot sneakers for at least 15 years. I ordered these for a trip to Scotland where I needed a shoe that offered protection from the elements. I wore them at home on a couple of occasion before my departure. I loved the solidity of the shoe and the ample room for the toes but noticed that the right shoe had a seem putting light pressure above my pinky. I finally wore them on a day trip involving having to sit on a bus for many hours. The pressure on my foot became unbearable, just sitting on the bus. It got worse walking. I started limping, trying to find a way to walk and had to remove the shoe every time back on the bus. I ended trowing them out as I didn't want to lug them around for the rest of the trip. I am so disappointed.
Perfect casual sneaker
I wear Trail Gloves for hiking, which I love. I wanted a casual shoe that would look good with jeans and shorts and tried Adidas Sambas, Pumas, and Chucks. None fit my short wide feet but I was about to settle for size 10 Pumas. Then I passed a Merrill store and tried the green sneaker wrapt. Because of the wide toe box, I could wear size 9 and they were infinitely more comfortable and look awesome. They don’t feel anything like the barefoot Trail Gloves or Vapor Gloves. They have more sole than Converse All Stars.
Too much "support"
They're okay, but there's too much "support." I can't wear them for long, a couple hours before my feet get achey. I'm talking about in the middle of the foot, on the inside. The best barefoot pair shoes I ever got were Merrells--I think it was an early vapor glove, leather. None of that instep or outstep support. I used them all day every day until the bottom wore through. But the two pairs I've bought since then have these extra pieces that feel unnatural and are uncomfortable to walk around on.
Another Great Hit!!!
Bought these just as they came out and I am very happy with them! I have now 3 different pairs of Wrapts, and they all fit perfectly, and I will say my feet never hurt! I wear the wrapt sneaker style for my everyday shoe and the style is on point. Has a great retro 80s vibe that I do like. The color(Dark Ivy) is a great color and goes with everything I wear. I am actually tempted to buy the blue color as well! Overall, very pleased and so are my feet! I wear a 13mens and these run true to size!
