Sharp design with understated rugged flare. Appreciatively aggressive tread. Nicely bolstered arch gives the shoe a cushioned flex when rocking back and forth. Super comfortable. Generous use of foam.
Was really excited since the Hierros have become my go to hiking shoe. The tongue on the right shoe was not cut properly causing it to dig into my foot uncomfortable no matter how I adjust it. I wore the shoes not more than a dozen times in very light duty conditions and the “leather” tore away along the seam. These shoes are garbage and share little of what makes the Hierro hiking shoes great.
The shock absorption is incredible. It really saves your joints — my lower back and knees felt completely fine after a tough trail. Ideal road-to-trail shoes. Very useful since some mountain roads here are paved, and the transition feels seamless. With Vibram Megagrip, these shoes are amazing for off-road trails, woods, and uneven ground.
We have 5 pairs of these in different colors, I hope they make these shoes forever because my poor size 16 honey has a hard time finding shoes he loves, normally they’re just a means to an end. These are sturdy, stylish, very comfortable and I have to ask him not to do chores in them because he will wear them all day long. We’re using a 4 year old pair for chicken chores, the only reason they were replaced was because I scrubbed them too many times and they finally look like they’re 4 years old. I don’t even mind the price because they keep his toes safe and come in great color ways.
Great show very comfortable and supportive. I got the wide width sized 12.5 when I usually wear a 12 but they fit perfect.
The toe protection has changed from the last ones I purchased. They feel more like a hybrid work boot than a trail shoes. Also not a fan of the lacing system again back to my previous comment if makes them feel like boots. The lacing system seems to impede the flex on my foot which has never been a problem for me with your shoes. I would also work on the dye for the burgundy on the shoes it looks more pink. I hope this finds you well keep making great shoes they all can’t be winners
So incredibly disappointed with these poorly made shoes. It's my first pair of NB and I got them specifically for hikes. Unfortunately, I took them for 1 long walk of approx. 18km (on mostly flat terrain/fotrrest trail type) and it's already clear that they were not properly put together. The toe protection presses painfully on my toenails, even though the shoes otherwise fit well, so it's not a sizing issue. They also collapse inward with every step. The cushioning is comfortable, but it feels as though the outer side is much firmer than the inner side, making the shoes unstable and causing my foot to roll inward. It feels like a design flaw rather than proper support. The grip is excellent but that's pretty much the only good thing about them. I can't believe I spent so much money on a pair of shoes that I could only wear once. Such a nightmare..
I really love my Hierro Trek sneakers. They are well-made, very comfortable, and great shoes for hiking and walking, especially on level grassy surfaces. The toe box is snug, but not uncomfortable, so I would try these on before you buy if possible to see if a wider size is more suited to your foot.
My experiencie with you guys has begun in Chile (South America), many years ago. Because i like your retro version and the running models as well. My new hierro are increidible. I will use them when i have to walk felling confortable.
Not what I expected. Heirro Trek (12.5 2e) are narrower than the Heirro V9 (12.5 2e) with the laces starting closer to the toe area. This is not working with my feet. Abrading the top of my foot at the laces first holes.
