Snowshoe lunch!

Brought the chili mac pro pak out to enjoy for lunch during our snowshoeing hike. It was warm and all the spices warmed us up from the inside. It's dense and exactly what you'd want when it's cold outside.

A new favourite for the trail

I wasn't really expecting to be super wowed by some dehydrated pasta, but this one was surprisingly very good! The chili is nicely seasoned and has just the right amount of kick. The macaroni is filling and cooks up evenly. Portion is perfectly sized for 1 person. All in all, a very solid backpacking meal. In fact, I liked this one so much, I made it again at home, once I got back from my camping trip! Will def repurchase.

Top Tier Meal

An elite camping meal for the lactose challenged explorer. Delivers hot, tasty calories with out a huge cooking hassle. Don't tell my wife but I'd probably eat this for dinner at home too

Amazing flavor - maybe let it steep a little longe

Tasted great, and was a good serving size for one person. I definitely let it sit a little longer than the max, and the meat was still not completely re-hydrated. Also, it was definitely more on the chili side of chili mac (soup, rather than stew/pasta), and I ended up drinking the last several bites from the bag. (I supposed I should have just poured it into a bowl, but who wants to wash dishes?)

Simple to make and good

I have bought 3 tubs of 100 plus serving emergency food from several different companies Then realized I should try them before buying more. The best thing to me about Mountain house is ease of making. Add boiling water stir, wait 5 minutes stir and 5 minutes later eat. and I will buy more chili mac. Was good out of the package. DONT FORGET TO REMOVE OXEGEN ABSORBER, lol.

Never again!

Probably one of the worst attempts to make "chili" flavor ever.

Produced a soup!

I made this meal with EXACTLY the prescribed amount of boiling water. After giving it more than the recommended amount of time to sit, the result was chili mac soup - tid bits of meat, kidney beans and macaroni swimming in a red liquid. Totally inedible.

Freeze dried foods have really been improving! Easy to prepare and the meal didn’t have any dried crunchy pieces like days of old. Packed easy & the bag did not expand like a balloon at higher altitude.
