I mated it with my Big Agnes AXL Trail Boss pad and slept outside in 30 degree temps and was nice and toasty in socks, shorts and a tee. I am a side sleeper and felt like I was in my king sized bed. Really. And it compresses down to about the size of a quart bottle. Truth told, however, is that the zipper catches easily. ALL zippers catch easily, however. This is a quality bag.
quality bag and it has the pillow "barn" and the structure to keep the mattress in place. Excellent
Good bag for the price. I bought it as I wanted something that was: 1) lightweight and compressible for portaging and 2) wide enough in the shoulders that I can roll within the bag. (I'm 5'11" and 160#s). It is great for both of those!! I was concerned that with the lack of down / insulation on the bottom there not be any insulation around back when I roll over on my side. I thought the integrated sleeping pad sleep would prevent that; however, the sleeve does not fit the size sleeping pads the listing says. I have an REI Camp Bed self-inflating pad (25"x72") and there is absolutely no way it comes close to fitting within the sleeve. Neither the REI associate at that store or I could figure out any way it would fit. The photographs show the sleeve extending above the top of the head, and that isn't possible. They clearly redesigned the bag after the photo was taken. BUT, I just run a 3/4" strap through the sleeve and then around my sleeping pad to keep the two basically in place. Additionally, the area without insulation is actually small. It is only a 9" wide section of the bottom of the bag. Worse case, when I roll over, I might need to just reposition and shift the bag toward my back. Not really different than repositioning a blanket in bed.
I was very excited to buy this bag for my boyfriend for Christmas, and most of his use will be on solo trips, but I was very sad to see that it doesn’t mate with my Roxy Ann bag, which is the main reason I insisted on buying him a Big Agnes bag. It’s still a great bag, but it’s good to know that they’re not universally compatible.
Recently bought and really enjoy. Still have to put it through some cold but I wanted to jump on and say it fits a REI helix regular wide sleeping pad just fine. I was stuck wondering if my pad would work with this and it does. 25” wide and 72” long I believe idk. But hopefully that helps y’all make a decision. Again this thing is spacious and I didn’t think the pillow barn would be that good but it’s so functional it makes you feel guilty hearing about others bad sleep nights lol.
