Features

  • 3N1 system offers 3 bag configurations with 2 lightweight, down-insulated bags for temperature versatility and a technical sleep system that keeps you on your pad all night
  • Use just the outer bag on warm summer nights, just the inner bag when temperatures start to drop, and both together on the coldest trips for ultimate warmth
  • Layering the inner and outer bags maximizes thermal efficiency; their offset quilting minimizes cold spots
  • Inner bag design mimics the Big Agnes Sidewinder sleeping bag; it's designed for side sleepers and made to move with you from side to side
  • Keep your head snug and warm using the inner bag's jacket-style hood
  • Spacious, rectangular-shaped outer bag is constructed with a no-draft collar; a no-draft wedge; and 2 no-draft, antisnag side zippers with zipper garages
  • Ultimate comfort and additional hand warmth with hand tuck pockets at the top of outer bag
  • Padlok™ sleep system attaches easily to your sleeping pad (not included), allowing you to comfortably roll around inside without rolling off your pad
  • Padlock design features a pad cinch system with self-equalizing drawstring to easily connect the bag to your pad while the middle securement provides extra stability
  • Pad cinch system is adjustable to accommodate a variety of pad sizes
  • Pillow Barn attached to pad sleeve allows for natural head movement while keeping a pillow (or jacket) securely in place (pillow not included)
  • 2-way zipper unzips from the top or bottom of both bags for easy temperature control throughout the night
  • Inner bag features a center-zip YKK #3 zipper; outer bag features a left-zip YKK #5 zipper
  • Includes a mesh sack ideal for long-term storage and a smaller stuff sack for active use
  • To pack bag down to its minimum compressed size, Big Agnes recommends pairing it with a Big Agnes compression stuff sack or superlight girdle (not included)

Imported.

Temperature ratings are intended as a guideline to help you compare products, rather than a guarantee of warmth, since many different factors contribute to your comfort while you sleep. Backpacking bags are typically rated for temperature according to an independent testing protocol—currently International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 23537, though some older items followed European Norm (EN) 13537. Testing is based on a person wearing one base layer and a pair of socks, sleeping on an insulated surface with a minimum R-value of 5.38.

Each bag then gets 2 ratings: the Comfort rating is the lowest temperature at which the bag will keep the average "cold sleeper" comfortable, and the Lower Limit rating is the lowest temperature at which the bag will keep the average "warm sleeper" comfortable. Some brands determine their own temperature rating by aligning to the Comfort rating for women’s bags, to the Lower Limit rating for men’s bags, or somewhere in the middle for nongendered bags.

Solid bag for a trip with varying conditions

I took this bag on a week-long trip through the Canadian Rockies, camping at elevations ranging from 6,500 ft down to 3,000 ft with a mix of weather conditions. The ability to mix and match components based on each night's forecast-without hauling extra gear-was a huge advantage. It's also great for adjusting on the fly if you misjudge the weather. Overall, this is a solid buy: warm, sturdy, and versatile. I'm a cold sleeper and stayed comfortable throughout, with nighttime temperatures from just above freezing up to around 70°F. Looking forward to testing it in below-freezing conditions this winter.

Big Agnes Lost Ranger 0

Well made with a lot of loft and super comfortable. Pad strap is key for dogs. I also liked the amount of room in the quilt and how you can take a nice sleeping bag dive on super cold nights. It's first field test will be soon but based on look feel and appearance this item will keep anyone warm. I would say this item is an investment 3-4 seasons in one item. For newer peeps in the outdoor community this might be a super good investment. I will add updated review once it is in the field with me on warmth and overnight comfort in a single wall tent with more moisture.

Great product with a few tweaks

This is a great bag. Super warm, lightweight, and packable. The only beef I have with it is the zipper on the interior bag. Due to the inner and outer bag, the center location of the zipper on the inner bag very very easily snags on the outer bag. One night I tried to zip up the inner bag and it caught on the outer bag, ripping a hole in the bag and spewing fill everywhere. I am very careful with zippers, but this one seems to catch a lot more than other bags.

this is a very comfortableand versatile setup. you're able to hit all 4 seasons with this one system. It also secures your sleeping pad underneath you so that you do not slide off. the pillow barn is my favorite because it acts as a pillow case and keeps it positioned under your head the whole night. beginner or pro this system is awesome for the person who wants a one-stop shop for their sleep system. I look forward to taking it out to Colorado for 2nd rifle

35F and still warm

Took this on an overnight low of 35F and was not cold. Also used the Big Agnes Rapide SL Insulated Sleeping Pad Regular Wide and Nemo Switchback Sleeping Pad. The straps to wrap around the wide sleeping pad were not any problem. Figuring out the order to get them onto the pad did take a minute (I was tired). comfortable and lots of ways to get my just right temp as it got colder was easy as pulling up the outer layer and zipping it up.

Great Bag

I gave this bag a 10 because it really came in clutch on my Alaska hunting trip. It packs really small which was a plus for me due to size and weight constraints for a float plane drop hunt. It kept me warm all 7 days even when the temperature dropped down to 10 degrees. I also really like the versatility that I can leave the inner bag out and use it on another back-country hiking trip when it gets warmer.

Great design

I think it's cool how the zipper for the inner bag zips directly up in the middle. Yes it does have a history or reviews of it snagging and I could see that being a possibility but knowing that the fabric can catch him as ever. I just zip it up carefully and don't have problems. I just used it up At around 12,000 ft. in a bivvy too complete my 53rd and 54th 14er and I was nice and toasty all night long.

Great for changing temperature climates

I liked the ability have two layers of warmth, but the overall was not really suited for 0 degrees. Maybe comfortable above 25 F. The bag is ultra light, but zippers are lightweight and can snag. I returned for a single bag 0 degree. This would be great for the backpacker in more moderate climates and summer camping to use the outer layer. Big Agnes was great with return credit.

excellent bag

I used this bag on two kilimanjaro and one everest base camp trek. Night temperatures were as low as -14F and often at 0F. With socks, 260 long underwear top and bottom and a beanie, I was never cold in the bag. I used a big agnes inflatable pad on kili and modified (lengthened) the cinch on the outerbag so it could fit the mattresses in the teahouses on EBD.

Gear heads beware

If you like lots of different bags for all the temperature ranges, do not buy this bag. It basically covers them all. On the other hand, if space is an issue, you like one tool to do multiple jobs, this bag is for you!
