I liked the ability have two layers of warmth, but the overall was not really suited for 0 degrees. Maybe comfortable above 25 F. The bag is ultra light, but zippers are lightweight and can snag. I returned for a single bag 0 degree. This would be great for the backpacker in more moderate climates and summer camping to use the outer layer. Big Agnes was great with return credit.
I used this bag on two kilimanjaro and one everest base camp trek. Night temperatures were as low as -14F and often at 0F. With socks, 260 long underwear top and bottom and a beanie, I was never cold in the bag. I used a big agnes inflatable pad on kili and modified (lengthened) the cinch on the outerbag so it could fit the mattresses in the teahouses on EBD.
If you like lots of different bags for all the temperature ranges, do not buy this bag. It basically covers them all. On the other hand, if space is an issue, you like one tool to do multiple jobs, this bag is for you!
Ranger 3n1 0 UL I bought this bag last year for my annual hunting trips here in Colorado. Spent many a night between then and now in this bag. It holds your sleep pad, holds your pillow, has layering options, has a hood, and you can roll around when sleeping! From nights at 10-45, given a good and warm sleeping pad, I have never felt a chill. I have yet to push my trips into extremely cold conditions (-), but I have the utmost confidence that this bag would treat me well during those types of nights. It packs as a huge roll, but can be squished and is as lightweight as a feather! Zippers will always snag, no matter what sleeping bag you buy. So treat this thing with kindness and patience, and it will take care of you! My hunting buddies made fun of my huge pack. Then they put on my backpack only to realize that their ribbing was in vain, as my backpack is puffy, not heavy at all! We spiked out after a long trek into the wilderness, and they were in awe of my ultralight camp setup and how my backpack shrunk into nothing. I have made it through many cycles of extreme weather conditions: rain, freezing rain, warm days, cold and cloudy days, hail, light snow, decent snow, 40mph winds, and thunderstorms. All of which, I never once struggled sleeping in this bag. The bag never got wet inside of my backpack, and it warms up quickly after climbing in. I have never owned a sleeping bag of this quality, and will not be going back! Buy gear that allows you to go farther into your adventures, and that is comfortable enough for you to stay longer out there! This is my motto, and this bag allows me to leave many others at base camp.
