Big Agnes  Torchlight EXP 20 Sleeping Bag

I had the regular torchlight before and my bag was stolen so I had to upgrade, after doing some research I found that they offered a down version of the bag I previously had, plus some features. My girlfriend has the women's version of this sleeping bag, and they zip together to create a huge sleeping bag so it's nice being able to camp together and separately with the same bag. It has a new feature where it can tie around your sleeping pad and that I ended up using and enjoying more than expected. I also enjoyed that it packs down a lot smaller than the synthetic one I had previously.

A comfortable night's sleep makes such a difference, especially when you're spending multiple nights outside. The Torchlight came along on our October Boundary Waters trip, and one of the features I was most interested in was the expandable design. I really appreciate the thought behind being able to adjust the fit of a sleeping bag. Having a little extra room to move can be important for comfort, and I like that this design offers another option. It's a thoughtful feature for anyone who likes the idea of a traditional sleeping bag but wants a little more flexibility.

I’ve been extremely impressed with my Big Agnes Torchlight sleeping bag. The expandable side panels are a genuinely useful feature—they let me customize the fit depending on the weather or how much room I want, which makes for a much more comfortable night’s sleep than a traditional mummy bag. The insulation has kept me warm on cold nights without feeling overly bulky, and the bag packs down well for travel and backpacking. I highly recommend purchasing this bag! It is roomy, warm, and cozy as heck. Not to mention, very light and great for backpacking! Zippers work well, stuff sacks are perfect, the color is great, overall really happy with my purchase! I have used it for backpacking only three times, as it is fairly new to me. But I have no doubt this product will hold up like all other big Agnes products do. Can’t recommend this brand enough!

Replaced an old north face sleeping bag with this one and it’s been great. 35+ nights in so far and no complaints. The ability to lock it onto the sleeping pad is next level. I toss and turn, and often end up with the sleeping bad twisted all around me. Not amymore! Lightweight, extra zipper “extenders” for a wider feel. Very durable. Extremely satisfied

I am so happy I purchased this sleeping bag. Major upgrade from heavier backpacking bags of my past. I get claustrophobic in most mummy bags, this ones ability to unzip at sections or in my case the entire thing gave me a ton of wiggle room and I had this bag within 10 degrees of its comfort rating on a very wet night at 12,100 feet and never felt anything but warmth. I was shocked at how translucent the fabric is, but I am sure that is part of this bags lightness. Love the pull cord sleeping bad sleeve, so much better than any I have had previous that compressed the sleeping pad and didn't have the ability to quickly remove the pad from the bag for whatever reason. Only problem I had with this bag is that it slides on the floor of my big Agnes Tent like water and oil. On the slightest decline in the tent this bag (with pad simply slide into the end of the tent). I am planning on hopefully solving this with a bit of grip/seam seal on the flaps for the pad holder.

Light weight mummy bag great for camping. Used in upper 40 degree night in south western Pennsylvania. Stayed dry and warm, actually removed extra clothing throughout the night. There is a tight toe box but it's also a mummy bag. Straps on bottom of bag fit sleeping pad nicely. Also, love the bright orange color.

It is very compact and just the right weight for summer backpacking trips. I used it for a trip that was a couple of nights. It was important to get a bag that was compact and one utilizing the mattress sleeve was ideal. The system freed up space in my backpack for food!

I gave this bag a 5 because it is the best bag that I've used. For a consistent 8 day backpack hunt with night temperatures ranging from 50°-30° I was more then comfortable in this bag. The zippers works great and the side expanders your a nice addition.

I'm 5'10 and the regular size is perfect. I use a wide pad and had no problem connecting the two together. The bag is light, soft, cozy and very warm. Especially when paired with a past that has an R value of 4.8. I love this sleep system!
