This is my second pair of Salomon trail sneakers and these have a pinch more length than the first pair. While I can’t slip these on & off as quickly as I could the XA Comp 8, the sense ride 2 sneakers do have a better toe box allowing my toes to spread out. These trail runners have that phenomenal Salomon running tread grip & the awesome quicklaces The sense ride 2 sneaker seem a pinch more narrow (see pic) than the XA Comp 8 so this may be something to keep in mind if you prefer a wider fit.
As of now my dauhter is kicking the trails with this shoes, she's being on a trecking and backpacking trip to Patagonia, southern Chile and Southern Argentina. Lets wait till she comes back , here some picks
I bought these shoes a few months ago to use on trails & unpaved roads. The shoes fit so well and the Ortholite soles are very comfortable! I love the no-laces but found that I had to tuck the cord in the front (see pic). I had quite a bit of dirt/ mud on them before my feet actually got wet, and they dried quickly! I have also used them for slicker road conditions and happy to have a bit of grip under. Overall a great shoe.
Comfortable but not as well constructed as I would expect. The lace pull is WAY too long and difficult to keep out of the way. Becomes very annoying when running. Also the seams look super messy. If they weren’t for trail running, I wouldn’t have kept them because of that.
I bought these to replace my other Salomon trail runners that had worn out after a good long time. The fit is great, the toe box is wider, but my regular size still fit with just more room in the toes. I've had them for about a month now and had them on all types of terrain from grass to rocky going up and down hills. Traction has been great and comfort can't be beat. Love them!
I walk on the outsides of my feet (underpronate) and these are a dream for my feet. They have a lot of support in the footbed (arch and outer side) without a ton of extra cushioning on the top and sides which always feels clunky to me. I don't usually spend anywhere near this on runners, but these are worth every penny for me. I normally wear a 6.5 or 7, and a 6 was perfect for me in these.
I purchased these primarily for hiking on the beach. We do a lot of bouldering and log crossing and lots of sandy miles so I wanted a shoe with a flexible, "sticky" sole, a little cushioning and durability. I wear these for 4-6 mile beach excursions 3-4 days weekly and they are quite comfortable for walking. They are awesome for climbing on the rocks & logs-I feel secure that the sole will maintain its grip even when wet. The mesh is loose on the top of the shoe, however and the shoes easily get sand in them, but I don't mind so much. The laces are a little weird and took me a bit to get used to, but all easy now. I have gotten these soaked through several times but I just take out the insole and let them dry on the front porch. They do run a little big-I usually wear a 10.5 in a running shoe and the 10.5 in the Sense Ride has quite a bit of length that I do not need. Overall, for my beach-life purposes, this is a great shoe.
Love these trail running shoes. They are lightweight and grippy. I prefer to feel the ground as I run and these allow that. They are not cushioned so if you prefer that then you may not like them. They provide the perfect amount of support for me. They run true to size / possibly a half size bigger. I'm a 7.5 in most shoes but usually size up to an 8 in running shoes, however I got these in a 7.5 and they are a perfect fit, allowing plenty of room in the toe box for movement and swelling.
I've worn these on dirt trails, rock, gravel, and sandy beach and they've been very reliable and durable. The soles are very grippy-- I've only ever slipped on smooth wood. If you're looking for something with thick soles where you can't feel the ground through them, these are not for you. I can definitely feel the trail through them, which I prefer but it's not for everyone.
I bought these in December in the pink color to use for winter running and trail running. I love how light, fast, and stable they feel. I never feel like I'm going to stumble and fall or twist an ankle in these. I even wore them for a 16 mile nighttime trail run in back in February and they worked really well (I added YakTrax to them due to truly icy conditions). I normally wear a 9 in running shoes but I bought an 8.5 in these. They have plenty of room, even for thicker socks. I would definitely buy these again.
