Comfortable & stylish

I’ve been wearing these for 3 weeks and am pleased with the quality and comfort. They don’t hurt my feet after a whole day at work.

Size 5 is much larger than previous running shoes

Since the Salomon MissiionX women's trail running shoe that I have been running in for over 10 years, has been discontinued, I needed to find a replacement. I am a women's size 5 and the new shoes are significantly larger than the size 5 MissionX. I'm bummed as I really do like the new shoes - but they are just too big and I'm getting pain in the ball of my foot from the bend not being in the correct spot for a size 5 foot.

Thank you for your loyalty to Salomon over the years and for your detailed feedback! We're sorry to hear the transition from the X-Mission has been challenging, and we understand how frustrating it can be when a favorite model is discontinued. Your comments regarding the sizing and flex point on smaller sizes have been noted and will be passed on to our product team. We'd recommend visiting one of our partner stores where our staff can help find the best current alternative for your foot shape. You're also welcome to try them at home and return them free of charge as long as they haven't been used outside. We hope we can find the right shoe to keep you running with Salomon!

Trail Running

My first time trying the Pulsar W. I’m not as happy with it as my other two Sense 5 I’ve owned. I’m an avid trail runner and I had a lot of high hopes for these shoes. They’re just not as cushiony and doesn’t have as much support as I would like. It also feels like there’s something sharp pressing against the top of my big toe.

Size is off

I’m a 9.5 in most brands, but always smaller for Salomon. Size 9 fits me for both Thunder & Speed cross. I ordered Pulsar in size 9 and they are entirely too big. Returning and will try an 8.5

Pros and cons

They are somewhat narrow and I have a wider forefoot. They were my normal size but felt 1/2 - 1 size longer. I did really like the heel cup and arch support. The sole slopes up like a rocker in the heel and I really don’t like it. It created a weird flat/ dead spot. The placement of the laces ant the pocket on the tongue to tuck in the cinch laces was off. When the laces tightened the tightened over the opening to the pocket so the pocket was unusable. I like their appearance.

Worth a try

For years, a loyal Speecross 6 wearer, I hi babydecided to try the Pulsar, given that the website info indicated it to be a trail shoe that's lighter, for when one doesn't need big lugs. It definitely feels lighter, but cuff is not as comfortable, lacing system is not as easy to adjust to differing widths of foot anatomy, and fabric upper doesn't feel as hearty as the Speedcross 6. The footbed doesn't fit my foot as well, either, like the glove that Speedcross feels like. Although I'll keep this pair for those lighter days, I just ordered another pair of Speedcross 6.

Thank you for your feedback and for your loyalty to the Speedcross range. We're glad to hear you appreciated the lighter feel of the Pulsar, but we're sorry it didn't provide the same fit and comfort you've come to expect from the Speedcross 6. The two models are designed with different objectives in mind, so elements such as the fit, upper construction, collar design, and overall feel can vary significantly. It's great to hear you've found the Speedcross 6 continues to be the right match for your needs. We appreciate you taking the time to compare the two models and share your experience.

Nice gravel/easy trail shoe

Nice shoes - but fits more narrow than some other shoes from Salomon. I never know if I need a size 7 or 7.5 which is frustrating. I ordered a 7.5 which fits okay; fairly narrow and feels a bit long but I don't think a 7 would fit my foot at all. Otherwise good grip, nice cushion and fun color. Decent shoe for non-technical trails and gravel/dirt road daily runs. Size reference (women's): Pulsar 7.5, Thundercross 7.0, Speed Cross 7.5, Genesis 7.5, Aeroglide 7.0.

Thank you for your detailed feedback and for sharing such a helpful size reference for other customers! We're glad to hear you're enjoying the grip, cushion and color. As different models use different molds, sizing can indeed vary across our range, which is why we'd recommend checking our size guide on the website or visiting one of our partner stores where our staff can help find the best fit. We hope you continue to enjoy your runs with Salomon!

Best shoe ever

I had a favourite Salomon shoes and over the past 2 years, I purchased 4 pairs I loved them that much. Then those shoes were phased out. Which shoes would I purchase to replace them? Well I found it. I love these shoes, recommend them to everyone and I use them for every activity.

Good

Sadly I don’t LOVE them. I really love the way they look but at the end of every run, I find my feet feel sore and doesn’t feel like enough cushion?? Maybe I’m being too picky but hopefully they will change over time !

Not like the old pulsar

I have always loved the pulsar, and used this shoe for years. This model seems very different; less cushioning and more stiff. It’s still a good shoe for trails, but I cannot see myself doing long runs in these.

Thank you for your feedback and for being a long-time Pulsar user. We're sorry to hear this latest version didn't deliver the same experience you've enjoyed in previous models. Updates between generations can result in changes to the cushioning, flexibility, and overall ride, which may not suit everyone's preferences. We appreciate you sharing your experience, and your feedback will be passed on to our product team as we continue to evolve the Pulsar range.
