Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Pack, great construction. I am part of the Camelback Proto team and have been using this vest for several months now and it has been fantastic. I love the reservoir, it is quick and easy to fill. I have been using it as part of my marathon/triathlon training and the water capacity has been perfect for all of my training. My one complaint is that over the course of my longer runs the straps across the chest loosen and need to be tightened every 10-20 minutes. Other than that the pack is great. Wouldn't mind an extra pocket for nutritional but I usually make do with the flask pockets in the front. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for an entry-to-advanced level hydration vest.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good pack, but still with the stupid reservoir this is a good pack, huge improvement over the first version due to the fact the it stays closed. I really wish that camelbak would abandon their current reservoir and adapt the hydrapak like pretty everyone else has done and the reason for that is that they are the best. refilling ad aid stations takes half the time since there is not bobbling with that stupid closure that are on the camelbak reservoirs. also, bring back the marathoner. one more thing, the colors, bring back the traditional blue and silver, black??? really, then whatever that other color is. ugly

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight, great for long runs Bought this for 20+mile runs and so far it works fine. It has enough pockets to stash different things, including a cell phone pocket to store my phone with 5.5" screen. After a run, I hand wash the vest with just cold water and hand dry it, and it feels like new after few hours. Two minor issues are 1) refilling the bladder without spilling water everywhere is not easy because of the location of the opening and 2) the straps start loosening after some time during the run, and I need to tighten it once in a while or add a knot near the clip. This may not work well for ultra races if you need to refill the bladder multiple times.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for trail racing I was looking for a hydration option for a recent 50K trail race and this vest seemed to have the capacity I needed for the course I was running. I've run with it a bunch of times training and it has been race-tested too. It is easy to adjust so that it is comfortable and stays put while you run and you do get used to the noise that it makes when full of water. I do wish the pocket for your cellphone was a bit larger though. It does not fit my iPhone 6+, which was not the end of the world as I don't run with my phone all that often.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I bought this in hopes to wear it for an upcoming trail marathon. I put it on in the store and it felt fine. Once I filled the bladder with water and started jogging for a test run the bladder was bouncing around and there are these plastic rings that connect the front straps to the back that were digging into my ribs. I realized this within 2 minutes of running and turned around to head back. I love my 7 yr old camelbak octane xct, but the antidote bladder broke on it and I wanted to try something new, unfortunately this vest was not for me! Other reviews say it's comfortable, but that was not my experience at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good pack Overall a good pack, worn many times through training for my first 50K and during the race. Really like the quick stow flask for the front pockets. iPhone 6 Plus does not fit in cell phone pocket but typically I will place my phone in one of the front pockets made for the the quick stow flasks. I usually carry my phone for security. I do find throughout long runs I will need to tighten the pack a few times but it doesn't bother me having to do so. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and I would recommend this pack and purchase again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from straps loosen I love the new crux reservoir but returned the circuit vest. The side and frond straps loosen so you have to tighten them every 10 minutes. Could have been a great pack if other straps were used, these are too slippery. Also the chest strap buckles feel very delicate, probably won't last long. Weight reduction is good... but not on critical components. Also the right side strap holder ring pressed into my ribs but this is probably a manufacturing defect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice functional vest I bought this vest due to recommendation for long runs. It's great in all aspects but while running it loosens up a bit so I have to keep tightening it. It is tight when I start my run so not sure why it loosens up.

Questions & Answers

Is there a trick to keeping this from leaking? After I get the lid on (which is a good 5 minutes of trying and retrying the lid) I turn upside down to make sure nothing pours out. While running water leaks out around the lid. All connections seem fine.

Asked by: Jenna
A leaking reservoir cap is likely due to one of two issues: grit in the cap threads or a twisted O-ring. Please see CamelBak's site for more information on fixing either of these two issues.

How does the bite valve work?

Asked by: Jeanne K
The bite valve has a switch on it to prevent it from leaking. Toggle the switch to the open position, bite down on the rubber mouth piece and suck. These are easy to operate while running, hiking, biking, etc. without stopping.

Any chance a 2 liter reservoir will fit in this pack?

Asked by: stacey
A larger reservoir does fit in this pack, but it is a fairly snug fit and does cut into the gear capacity.

Is the bladder supposed to be clipped to the loop inside the pack to hold up the bladder while running?

Asked by: Milton
This newer model of the Circuit Hydration Vest doesn't need to clip onto the loop in order to keep the hydration reservoir in place.
