Rated 2 out of 5 by from Find the old version - it's much better I like MSR, the Company, they make many excellent products but this one is a huge step backward. I bought the new model as a replacement for my 10+ year old original and I'm sorry I did. It just doesn't work. With even the lightest squeeze of the handle the spatula folds over on itself. Do yourself a favor and go find the original model, which has a simple locking mechanism. This holds for the large spoon as well. And sorry, but who needs a strainer - which is included in a three item set (i.e., spatula, spoon, strainer).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Melted on first use. Good thing I decided to try this out at home making pancakes before heading out on the trail. I fired up my new MSR windboiler skillet and promptly melted my spatula the first time I went to flip a pancake. I now have melted plastic stuck to my new skillet. I'll just buy a cheap full sized heat resistant spatula at the store. First MSR product I've been disappointed with.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not heat resistant I bought this for a recent camping trip. Cheap, lightweight, easy to pack. Learned while cooking my first fried egg that the plastic melts when in contact with a hot pan. Maybe my expectations for a $4 spatula were too high. It still works, but deformed much more quickly than expected.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it is designed for... I have used this for 4 seasons now. It packs down fairly small, is light, it works, and is a little flimsy. I'd give it a 5 star rating but the tip melts. I am super careful not to let the tip hit the pan for more than a moment because i notice it melting.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Burns Seemed almost useful, had no problems with handle like another reviewer. However, front edge melted away on first use, exposing interior layers, and smelled bad. Returned to store and did not get another. Silicone, please.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Flimsy spatula I like using a spatula to help scrape the burnt bits out of my pan, but this one is way to flexible for that. I saw some reviews saying that it melted, and while I did not have a problem with that, the front did get a little shredded from trying to scrape with it. If your goal is to have something as light as possible, get this, but I'd rather have a few extra ounces of something sturdy like aluminum.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works fine for me Don't know what the last reviewer is talking about. Maybe his is defective but mine works flawlessly. Only con I can think of is the price. But MSR ain't cheap. This is one of those things that I always catch myself trying to put it in the pack when backpacking. It's just really not necessary and more of a luxury item. But for camping it goes in the cooler everytime.
