Cast iron cleaner kit is nice!

Received free product

As much as I really like my cast iron skillet, I’ve resisted using it because cleaning it is a bear because I didn’t have a scraper—until now. I tried the scraper on a skillet that I inadvertently burned some chicken and gravy in. Soaking it didn’t help much. But that nifty silicone scraper did! I like that it didn’t scratch my pan either. Loved washing the rest of it with the brush and finishing it off by seasoning it with the oil. Clean and ready for its next use! The kit comes with instructions. But the instructions are missing the last important part of seasoning a skillet, which is heating or baking the pan to seal in the oil.

A must have to keep your Lodge in top shape

Received free product

The Lodge Cast Iron Care Kit is a must have for cast iron cooking! It has everything needed to cook with, clean and maintain your Lodge Cast iron cookware. The red silicone handle allows you to easily grab the handle of the pan without the need for oven mitts. The red scraper quickly and easily removes residual food from the pan, and the brush makes cleaning with water a breeze. The seasoning spray makes keeping the pan in top condition simple. Spray it on anytime the pan needs seasoning, and heat it in the oven.

A useful all-in-one kit for cast iron care

Received free product

This four piece full spectrum cast iron care kit is useful for the cleaning and maintenance of your cast iron. The plastic scraper works well on the really stuck on bits, and the curves of the tool matched the curves of multiple Lodge cast iron pans I've got. The brush was super useful for standard cleaning and works well getting most cooked on stuff off the pan. The bristles are pretty stiff and the handle makes it pretty comfy to use. The spray is pretty generic canola oil, that just happens to be Lodge branded. The instructions call for a light coating, but that's pretty hard to do at the pace an quantity the oil comes out. The silicon handle seems like a useful thing at first -- but only decently fit one of three Lodge cast iron pans I've got. On the other two, the handle was pretty loose on the handle and did not feel very sturdy or same with the fit. Overall, a handy kit, but there is a bit of room for improvement.

Lodge complimentary cleaning kit

Received free product

I received this product (Lodge cleaning kit) for free in exchange for an honest review. I used this kit on both my new lodge 10.75” skillet and my trusty old lodge Dutch oven. The kit includes a silicone handle so you can pick up your lodge skillet while hot, a plastic scrapper, a cleaning brush, and seasoning oil in a spray dispensing can. Pros: Easy to use Convenient application of seasoning Scrapper has both curved and straight edges to get into all spaces Cons: Bristle on brush could be a little stiffer so you can use a little pressure to clean Overall I like this product, it made it easy to clean and season my cast iron pots and skillets and keeps them looking new and relatively nonstick. I cooked scrambled eggs, salmon, steak, and Brussels sprouts and carrots. Each different item was easy to scrape from cookware on once cool and then gently scrub, rinse wipe out and season. I would recommend this product to anyone with cast iron cookwear. My favorite item is the spray seasoning as it dispenses just the right amount with one touch. I haven’t had a chance to use it camping but can see it will make clean up easy at camp without needing a lot of water or scrubbing

Great kit to keep our cast irons clean & seasoned

Received free product

This is a great kit for cleaning and seasoning our cast iron cookware. The pan scraper worked well to remove food bits and it's nice to have a dedicated brush for cleaning the cast iron. The silicone handle protector is essential for cast iron pans, especially if you're like me and get busy in cooking and forget how hot those handles can get. I received this kit as part of a free product review to go along with a cast iron griddle. Though it is convenient to have all these items in one kit, we already had all of these items in our kitchen supplies. Probably a great gift for someone who is just getting started cooking with cast irons.

Really nice kit

Received free product

This is a really nice, posh kit. Wish Id had something like this for my old skillet [tragically lost during a move]. Everything is thoughtfully made and works well. The round brush is easy to hold. The little scraper is made for all the grooves and gets the residue off quickly. I really appreciated the silicone handle grip inclusion. Fits snug, gives extra grip and prevents burns. That's a must-have for a cast iron skillet! A little conditioning spray goes a long way. Should last me a while. I like how lit isnt too thick or greasy. Rubs in well, and sure makes the pan shine! The little scraper came in handy when I had the heat up a bit too high for my scrambled egg omelette and it left some residue. The pan cleaned up quick and easily with my care kit. I am excited for using this care kit for my new Lodge skillet. Full disclosure: I received a free product in exchange for an honest review.

Nice cleaning kit

Received free product

This is a nice kit for caring for any cast iron skillet. It has a plastic scraper to remove any baked-on items and a soft brush for gentle scrubbing. The skillet was new and the first time I used it over a backpacking stove I burned some butter in it. I was able to scrape it fairly clean (two days later), but the brush seemed a little soft to scrub the remainder. I realize you never want to scrub so much that it removes the seasoning so I think it's fine that it doesn't look brand new after cleaning. I used to oil provided and it looks good and I'm sure will perform just fine for future use. The Handle Holder is ideal for protecting your hand, albeit a bit loose for a 7" skillet handle.

Useful, but easy to buy a separate items

Received free product

This is a convenient kit for someone new to cast iron. It is reassuring to have specific instructions from the manufacturer about care, and manufacturer approved products to do it. The kit includes a spray bottle of canola oil, a silicone handle for hot cast iron handles, a scraper, and nylon bristle brush. The scraper and brush work very well. I was able to clean my griddle after burning cheese on it, without any additional tools, or any soap. Would I recommend this? Yes, for first time cast iron users. But, one could easily obtain these products individually, elsewhere.

Safe To Use and Easy to Clean

Received free product

The pan is a nice size and easy to handle. I have several cast iron skillets and pans, but none with a long handle on one side and a short one on the other. The inclusion of the silicone long handle holder is a great bonus. I will feel safer walking down steps to get outdoors with a freshly cooked dish with this skillet more than my others. I made skillet home fries for the first use of this item because it is the messiest dish I make. The recipe is just prepped potatoes, oil, water and seasoning. It is cooked six minutes, stirred, and cooked six more minutes. You intentionally get some dark crust on the potatoes. After the cooked potatoes are removed from the pan, I boil water in the pan to loosen the stuck potato crust. I thought this pan might be harder to clean than my others due to the surface being a bit rougher. Surprisingly, after the pan cooled it was almost clean with a simple wipe up with paper towels. To call this pan "non-stick" as the packaging does, is a stretch to me. However, it is a great addition to my kitchen. The little brush and scaper are nice additions too. I would buy this item as a gift.
