Rated 5 out of 5 by from OMG The Best Product Ever! I bought this product knowing the Mosquitoes might be bad this year as the Sierra's had a late wet spring (2015)...well unfortunately I was right. The mosquitoes were "THICK" and everywhere. This Repel 100 saved me and my son. It works FANTASTIC!! The mosquitoes would not even land on us after using this product. Pump spraying from the bottle onto your skin wastes the product because some of it misses the skin and/or put it on to thick in other areas. So, pump spray this product on one of your palms and then rub palms together then rub on your exposed skin or clothing areas. A little goes a long way and it lasts like 10 hours as advertised.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Effective stuff that's harder to use I brought this on a bike tour, hoping it'd save space over the larger spray cans. It is undoubtedly effective, but in places were the mosquitoes seem to be more numerous and more desperate, it's just harder to achieve good coverage with the tiny pump spray: it must be held upright, for example, which makes it harder to apply to your back and legs....and much harder to use while biking quickly trying to escape from the dozens of mosquitoes that have hitched a ride in the eddies around your bike bags. (Long story.) Also, I've read that DEET is a mild solvent, though even with this stuff I never witnessed my tent dissolving before my eyes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works I had an older version of this product (just a different bottle), I was in a marshy area for about 3 days and it was the worst time of the year for mosquitoes I tried and use the cheaper spray I had and it was totally ineffective only the this product worked. To get an idea on how bad the mosquitoes were one of the girls there had counted over 20 bites on her arms. I was bit free until it ran out when I lent it to some people who drenched them selfs with it luckily it was the last night we were staying there. Best product out there for repelling mosquitoes. I always carry a bottle when camping.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Effective. But will melt synthetics. This is pure DEET, so it's extremely effective. This is the nuclear-deterrent of bug sprays. This is as good as you can buy. But, some things to know. DEET is a powerful solvent; as the label says, it can and WILL melt a lot of plastics/synthetics. I've watched a very light misting melt my watch crystal and plastic watch strap as if I'd held a match to them. Scary strong. So two drawbacks: you don't want to make a long term habit of spraying this stuff directly onto your skin to be absorbed, and you don't want this to melt your watch, buttons, synthetic fabrics like clothing, shoes, tent, hammock, sleeping bag, etc. For spraying onto cotton clothing ( jeans, socks etc) DEET is fine. For treating synthetics (including tent/hammock/screening), using permethryn is a better option (but never spray permethryn directly on your skin). For skin, either use DEET sparingly or consider something like REPEL lemon/eucalyptus--some reviewers say it's not as effective as pure 100% DEET (what could be?) but it's totally safe even on a loooong trip.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Utterly useless Just got back from a backpacking trip in the Cleveland National Forest where there were tons of flys and mosquitos. This spray did nothing at all! I must have used half the bottle trying to keep the bugs off of my friend and I and it was totally useless. The bugs were so bad I contemplated a 4 mile night hike back to the cars (I know this would have been stupid). The only thing that saved the trip was that one of our 3-man group had a small, self-contained, wood-burning backpacking stove. Burning pinecones and dead twigs creates a smoke that bugs absolutely hate. I bathed in this smoke constantly to finally have peace from all the insects. It saved the trip. One of the things I learned from this trip is the need for reliable bug repellent. This Repel 100 spray is not it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Effective but disappointing spray My wife and I were going on a zip line excursion in Jamaica and wanted to make sure we didn't get bit. After spending all afternoon in a Jamaican forest, I only ended up with one bite and my wife had none. The people we were with had bites all over their bodies so I'm not sure what spray they used if they used any at all. We found the Repel 100 sprayer to not work very well which made it more difficult to apply.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money We bought two cans for our 2014 vacation because mosquitoes and gnats can be extreme day and night at OBX when there is no wind. This product was useless and did nothing but make us cough from repeated spraying. We found a simpler and cheaper product that really worked with out the deet. Don't believe the hype to sell this poor product. It simply does not work.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Effective in Brazil Used this during extended tours in Brazil--mosquitos tend to be around whether in the cities or the country. Often wouldnt have slept without it. (I sometimes sprayed my sheets/pillows/clothes to limit contact with skin. Yes, it sprays better when upright, but I consider that a minor complaint on a very effective product.
