Effective but harsh.
While Jungle Juice (basically DEET) is highly effective for about 2.5-3 hours, it is a harsh chemical in that it damages certain plastics and other petroleum products. As for its effects on our bodies, who knows? I’ve used it for about 30 years and can’t point to anything that I can say that its effected. I’m only using it for a few weeks a year during the summer months of backpacking. That being said, I’m 75 y.o. and I do recommend this product.

Leaks & Sprays
I don't like mosquitos. I like DEET. But I don't like DEET all over my hands, food and backpack. As far as pure mosquito repellant, Jungle Juice is fine, like most all DEET products. On a 6 day backpacking trip of 5 people, two of us had our Jungle Juice bottles leak all over everything. I had the raw bottle in my backpacks belt pocket, which became soaked in DEET oil. Yuck. It got all over my lip balm and the entire pocket, requiring a thorough cleaning which doesn't ever really get the oil off. I put the bottle in a zip-lock, but from then on any time I pulled it out I got DEET oil on my fingers, which I do not like. Where did all the solid DEET sticks go? This isn't a complaint specific to Jungle Juice, but hands down I prefer the old solid sticks (e.g., Cutters) where you could selectively apply DEET without getting it on your hands. How do you put deet on your face with a spray? And those sticks never leaked.

The bugs stayed away

I have only used it 1 time so far in an area which had a medium amount of mosquitoes. I didn’t get bit at all. I will need to use it in a more infested place/time before truly knowing its true effectiveness.

Would buy again in a heartbeat

High deet concentration, kept mosquitos away in India! Got some bites, but given how many mosquitoes we saw there, I am amazed how well the Jungle Juice kept them away. I will start using this when i spend prolong periods in my backyard too, where mosquitoes come out in drives at dawn and dusk...

It did the trick and kept the bugs away.

I took this with me to Costa Rica. It's deet so your lips will go numb but it vastly outperformed my wifes more organic alternative.

Works Well - No Weird Smell

Works like a charm! I grabbed this for a trip in Alaska with a ton of bugs. I'd spray a little on before I hit the trail & didn't deal with any insect bites. Unlike other insect repellents, I didn't notice a big smell with this one.

No ticks, no mosquitoes

I picked some of this up prior to a camping trip, and it worked flawlessly! I didn't have a single bug bite, and only found ticks on my gear, not on my person. My only complaint is that it left my skin all greasy, but hey, it's almost pure DEET, not much that can be done about that.

Highly effective

When the mosquitoes are thick and you need something that's really a factory at repelling them, this is a great product! If the mosquitoes aren't too bad, I use a natural product. But if I need something that does the job, this works very well.

Jungle Juice leaky shipment

Love the product BUT not happy with shipment, both bottles lids not screwed on tight enough and both leaked product inside of shipping box not enough to require a return but at least 10% of bottle leaked out
