Excelent for line lockers
These are an essential part of my gear bag when I go slacklining. You really can't go wrong with using these as line lockers, they are a lot easier to use and cleaner than trying to use a knot. The only potential issue that they have is that they can get dinged up pretty badly, this is more annoying than anything but over time it can put burs in your webbing. This is a problem that you will have if you use any aluminum rap ring though. The best thing you can do is to try and place the carabiner in the same place on the ring every time you use it, in the picture mine has already been dinged up so bad it doesn't really matter anymore. Aside from this they are the perfect for one inch beginner lines and tricklines.
Great multipurpose ring!
These rings are made for rock climbing use, but they also work well for setting up slacklines. When setting up slacklines, it's a good idea to use a "line locker" with the webbing and carabiners instead of tying knots with the webbing. These rings work really well as line lockers, but they end up having lots of dents in them from the carabiners.
Great for Slacklines
I purchased two of these to use for my slackline rig (in which I purchased everything else needed from REI a few years ago), and they make the rig so much fast, easier and more stable. If you arn't using lock rings for your slackline rig, pick a few of these up. You will not be disappointed.
Worth the money!
Solid and very lightweight. The fact that it's fatter than the steel ones makes it easier on the rope as well. Built from one solid piece of aluminum gives me more confidence rapping off these than off of one of the welded steel ones.
Aluminum rappel ring - the beef is here!
Good stuff! Beefy and has a greatly enlarged surface area over older, smaller anchors. Time will tell if this was a good choice as it is aluminum and not Stainless Steel.
