Smooth and Confidence Inspiring
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using the Mammut Assist Belay Resistor both indoors and outdoors, including on sport routes in the Jura Krakowsko-Częstochowska, and I've come away very impressed. My climbing partner and I have a 25 kg weight difference, which is exactly the kind of situation this device is designed for. In practice, it worked extremely well. Belaying felt noticeably smoother and more controlled, while still allowing dynamic catches and natural rope handling. The device engages only when needed, so most of the time you almost forget it's there. What I appreciate most is the concept itself. The idea is simple, but Mammut executed it very well. Whether climbing in the gym or on limestone routes in the Polish Jura, it provided extra confidence without getting in the way.
