After 10 miles the shoe is separating from the foam. The cushioning is good only on hard pack and flat terrain. The shoe does not secure the foot well. The shoe loosens up a ton after a little but of use and you have to crank it pretty tight to get any kind of stability. I do not have low volume feet either. The shoe is a nightmare if side hilling any terrain. It basically just slides all the way to the side and no amount of tightening fixes this. Once yo udo get it pretty tight it pulls the ankle cut out too close and then it rubs on bottom of ankle. Overall pretty disappointed in this shoe. I now have to take it back to the store i bought it from for warranty. pain in the...
I've had these amazing shoes for 9 weeks and have put over +90km already. The plushness of the sole is definitely incredible for long distance running and knee/joint health, overall material quality is great but can be more durable. Biggest problem is the narrow toe box with a high drop, as feet inflame the longer you run toes started hurting bad after 40km, so in my personal opinion, a Ultra Glide 2.0 should have a wider toe box, more durable sole and max 4mm drop to make it a truly epic ultra distance trail running shoe and a Salomon all-time best-seller.
Just picked these up for hike and fly. Great so far. Fit is perfect. Not too narrow not too wide. I do prefer wide toe box but these just work well and feel supportive. I am glad Salomon put rubber across the entire bottom as it adds a little more protection when landing. Shoe felt a little warm to me in 80 degree weather but not as warm as my Speed Cross. Anyways, very comfortable shoe and I would buy again.
I’ve been using the Salomon Ultra Glide 1.5 S/LAB for a few weeks now, and I’m really impressed. Super comfortable, lightweight, and responsive — perfect for long trail runs. The grip feels solid even on technical terrain, and the cushioning keeps my legs fresh after many kilometers. Great balance between comfort and performance. Totally worth it!
The S/Lab Ultra Glide 1.5 are a fantastic trail shoe. I wore them straight out of the box for a 90min trail run with no break in and have been happy since. I never had the chance to try the 1.0 but I can say the 1.5 fit amazing and in my size (US 14/ EU 49 1/3) they are one of the only shoes that fit my feet well. I have low arches but do not pronate a ton and find the mid foot wide enough to provide enough stability given the stack height and the side walls just wrap my foot so well. So far traction has been great. Looking forward to seeing how this shoe progresses. Hopefully not a ton of change when the 2.0 is released as I find the 1.5 checks a lot of boxes for me. ( Maybe a Matryx Upper?) Lastly the stack is awesome to save your legs but you get some good response from the midsole. Salomon has been a huge hit for me this year. I use the Aero Glide 3 for roads and that is such an unbelievable shoe! Great work And looking forward to getting more pairs!
Shoes rate a 10 for function. But all my expensive Stance socks turned orange. The color transfer is permanent and has never washed out. I returned them.
Got them just before a 100 mile race. Kept them the entire race and could still run the downhills at the end.
Awesome colorway. Grippy. Easy wearing. Toe box is decent. Heel feels right
Love the comfort and support this shoe offers for my long runs!
