Dangerous design flaws. Avoid this product.

I'm not here to bag on Stanley (love the brand) but this French press is terribly designed. The handles are 'held' on by six tiny spot welds. The very first time I used it the top welds gave way and I just narrowly avoided scalding my flip-flop-clad feet with the nearly boiling water. Terrible, terrible design. Nothing rugged about it, really. Please don't buy this until they reinforce their design (and their commitment to making truly rugged products--if you called 'rugged' something you can heat water up on a camp stove with and pour into your cup without it breaking). Seriously, you will be disappointed with this product in its current design, and you will have wasted your money, as I have.

Could have been great, but has an annoying flaw.

I make good coffee at home (fresh roasted, appropriate grind size, pour over, french press, moka pot, etc.). This product is great in concept (portability, all-in-one, rugged) and actually makes good tasting coffee if you have the right coffee grinds and ratios. The problem is that it leaks out the sides when you're ready to pour it out and serve. It's fine if you're camping, and you have coffee dribbling out to the dirt, but it is annoying that you're wasting perfectly good coffee. If you were making at home, you should definitely pour into your mug over a sink. This is not typically required when using a normal french press.

Flimsy handle

We have used this coffee pot daily for 13 months and yesterday the handle broke off while I was picking up a full pot. Catastrophe averted, but dissapointed in the quality of the handle. I knew from day 1 the handle felt sketchy and babied it, but it finally gave out. Loved the pot, but will go with something else this time.

Perfect Brew

This french press is great. Easy to clean, easy to pack, and most importantly it makes a delicious cup of coffee easily. It's easy to scale for one cup or multiple cups. It fits in great with the rest of my camping items with its sleek stainless steel and green finish. It's durable and will last years.

Great for 2 cups of coffee

I purchased this French press to use in our RV for our 2 cups of morning coffee. I plan to heat water in an electric kettle and pour the hot water into the French press. As such, I truly do wish Stanley would sell a silicone jacket for this French press for easy handling and heat retention.

Coffee essential for an adventure.

Best french press owned! I originally purchased this for our camping trips, but it's such a good press that I use it daily at home. It's durable, easy to clean, and makes great coffee. An essential whether out home or out on an adventure.

I really enjoy my coffee press. I use it in my home, almost daily. It's easy to clean. I just rinse it with hot water. The screen is fine enough that I make my favorite brand of coffee, Cafe Bustello.

Almost perfect

Really like it. Taking 1 star off because when pouring coffee it spills out between the pot and press insert. If they add an o ring at the top to seal it it’s perfect.
