Fantastic French press.
They’ve built the perfect thing here. This press is an incredibly well thought add-on to an already incredible product. Filter. Boil. And now brew. This press works perfectly and is so incredibly minimal in design it adds next to nothing to your kit. I’ve brewed with this in backcountry, on road trips, on hikes, and at home, and it’s simply perfect. It now goes everywhere I take the filter. I am someone that will hike somewhere just to make a coffee there. A great coffee can make an otherwise average day of backcountry fishing or the likes fantastic. Hiking a peak? Make a coffee. River trip? Coffee. If you have a titanium Grayl and you drink coffee, this is a no-brainer.
High quality multi functional press
Absolutely love this accessory for my GeoPress Ti! Turns an already priceless piece of kit into a high quality coffee press. See my video: ***youtu***/WdvSX1MBvf0
The Best Coffee Press
The grayl coffee press works the same way as a French press but this all in 1 grayl purifacation coffee press system is the one and only go too adventure cup you’ll ever need it is a little pricey but you will not be disappointed on any adventure you go on 5 stars from the gear guy here
Great addition to an already amazing product.
The coffee press works great. The screen has the perfect perforation size to keep fines of coffee out of your cup. If using the right grind level that is. . . This is a much appreciated addition to something I’m already carrying in the backcountry thus streamlining my kit. Thanks for another amazing product grayl you’ve made a fan boy out of me and I will continue recommending products to friends and family.
It’s very well made but I have one big complaint. .
It’s very well made but I have one big complaint. . Because the press doesn’t reach all the way to the bottom there’s no way to press out the coffee from the grounds if you’re only making one cup of coffee. It doesn’t reach far enough to squeeze pressure into the coffee grounds and you can’t just hold it upside down with the plunger down because that doesn’t really work either. I think it’s also important to note that this has a very high chance that the user would only be making a single cup so there’s a lot less coffee to press which makes the plunger too short. If they could provide one more metal rod, preferably a little shorter one than the two provided, this would be the best coffee press I’ve owned.
Works but no hype from me
Great idea and it is functional but not like you’ll hope and certainly a let down for both the price and expectation and reputation of Grayl. The new lid is tough to get on and even tougher to get off - bent off the handle trying. So I just set the lid on loosely. Twisting the press stem apart is also difficult without tools. But it’s all functional, and I made good coffee with it. Bought without a second guess cause Grayl has been great with quality on everything I’ve bought, but I’ll be more cautious going forward, as this needed more user testing and feedback.
Grail oven
I got the coffee press to make my Grail into a bread oven and bake while my coffee is cooling
Trail Coffee Level: Unlocked – Perfect Addition to the GeoPress® Ti
I grabbed the Coffee Press for the GeoPress® Ti and honestly it’s one of those accessories that just makes too much sense. It fits well, packs down easily, and turns an already great backcountry setup into a legit coffee station. There’s something pretty great about filtering water and making a solid cup of coffee from the same system while watching the sunrise at camp. Coffee came out smoother than expected with very little mess. Lightweight, simple, and now permanently living in my hiking kit. Great addition for anyone who takes trail coffee seriously. ☕🏕️
What it's missing. . .
So I love my titanium geopress and coffee press, really simplifies my setup, however I did purchase a titanium bush pot to slide onto the bottom, it fits decently with a carry case on the geopress without rattling too much, I'm just surprised yall don't offer a titanium cup with butterfly handles that snuggly fits to the bottom of the titanium geopress and another that fits the other geopress, having a cup for coffee or for a friend that doesn't take up any more room in my pack would complete this set perfectly!
Slick
Honestly the option to use a water filtration device as a coffee press was not a necessity, especially since my jet-boil mini mo also had a coffee press option. It wasn’t until I realized later that having options in the field is a good thing, especially since the jet-boil might pretty be cranking out dinner or breakfast. So brewing up some coffee on the Grayl had some appeal. Pretty slick option if you ask me. I love how multifunctional this Geopress is.
