GSI Outdoors  Glacier Javapress - 40 fl. oz.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using the GSI Glacier Stainless Javapress for a bit now, at the office, at home and on a recent weekend camping trip, and it has quickly become a favorite piece of gear. The stainless steel build is incredibly durable, meaning I don't have to worry about it breaking in my pack the way a glass press would. It does a great job making a good cup of coffee, but I also end up using it just to heat and hold hot water for tea or freeze-dried meals while camping. It holds heat well, handles daily use without any issues, and is just a simple, reliable tool for anyone who wants a good hot drink whether they are at work or outdoors.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Glacier 40 oz French-press style boiler is a must have for any outdoor enthusiast, and can even be useful to the average coffee drinker. It is equipped with a stainless steel body making it durable to an open flame or placed directly onto a stovetop, though it isn’t entirely necessary if you already have boiling water. There are “arms” that swing off of the container to attach to different things or to be picked up by. The press is a typical metal mesh. My only concern with the product overall is the heat containment, this could be improved. If only using this to make coffee, tea, etc.. and pouring out when prepared, than heat preservation is not important. Overall I highly recommend picking one of these up, it is a necessity for easy coffee/tea prep and can be used for so much more!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Simple and easy design. Instructions for the amount of coffee are a little vague but I added 5 TBSP for the 40oz full brew. Worked great on my induction stove top. Small enough to store when not in use and even to take camping. Stainless steel material makes it super durable and should last for a long time.

I misunderstood originally and thought it came with a heating mat but the mat is a heat absorbing mat so you can set the press on. The coffee comes out great and there are no grounds which surprised me. Good for on the go if you have the hot water to use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This boiler/java press heats up water pretty fast. It's very light weight and easy to haul around, whether camping or going to visit friends that aren't coffee drinkers. I like that it's stainless steel so I won't worry about it breaking in my bag when I take it with me. It also works good for tea and heating up soup over a campfire. Just be careful with the campfire - there are silicone grips on the handles (which can fold by the way!) and I was worried about them in an open flame. Just make sure they aren't directly over the fire. The press works well to filter out the grounds and I like that the lid has a lock and pour function to help lock in heat. The trivot that came with it was a nice touch too. It's large enough that I can make soup for the family or a pot of coffee for a few people, but I've also used it many times just to make a single cup for myself. It washes easily and stores pretty compact. Overall a really nice gadget to have.

I been testing it at home this summer and look forward to taking it with me on my next fall camping trip. It works beautifully as a coffee press and I am happy the handles are cool when I pick it up off the heat. My only complaint is when I use it for hot water only, there isn’t a way to remove the coffee press part of the pot, so leftover coffee grounds are in the hot water. I’m able to use it with the handle pulled all the way up and will continue to do so when all I want is hot water. I do like that it handles 6 cups of water!!

Heat it direct on your camp stove or pour in the extra water you didn't need for making dinner. I found the press function easy to use and the lid and handles were secure and protective. It even has a max fill line so you don't have to guess. The trivet that comes with it saves me from making rings on things. Yay!

This model is a 2 in 1, stainless steel french press and boiler, made to be safe to place directly on a fire, grill, or camp stove. The handles are heat safe silicone, though direct flame should be avoided to prevent scorching.

This will work perfectly come fall when my wife and I go camping on our single burner that we have. The stainless steel is durable without being unnecessarily heavy. The lid fits well and it comes with a nice hot hand to make sure you don’t burn yourself. Overall it’s a simple, well designed piece of cookware that does exactly what you need it to. I would recommend this product to anyone who would like a reliable compact camping pot!
