Improvements over the years
I bought this bag 8 years ago and it has been my go to travel bag. After many uses and travels, the zipper began to wear and split. Herschel stood by their lifetime warranty and made this process so easy to submit and communicate with service on. I purchased my replacement bag with the credit provided and to my surprise, the quality of the bag has GONE UP. The handles and fabric are so much sturdier and the shoulder strap is more padded and comfortable. Usually products go down in quality over time but I am pleased to see that Herschel’s has improved! I’m extremely happy with the service and the product and will continue to purchase from this brand.
Stylish and Practical
I was in need of a Duffle for some trips I had planned, and I was lucky enough to get to try out this Novel Duffle. Safe to say, I love it! At first glance, its quite a stylish looking bag, with the leather handle strap and the clip on shoulder strap if need be. Quite spacious too inside, as i was able to fit a few outfits in there for my trip, while not having the big clunky feeling. But the best part of this bag has to be the side shoe compartment that has a separate lining from the main zipper, so you don't have to find another plastic bag to put the shoes in. All in all, just a great match of style and functionality and I would definitely recommend it!
Stylish and practical
I was in need of a duffle bag and was lucky enough to be given this bag to try out. To me, it is honestly such a perfect match of stylish and functionality. With the choice of a shoulder strap to clip on, or just carrying with the leather hand straps, you can choose just how you want to rock it. The bag itself is quite spacious, as i was able to fit a few outfits and towels in it for a recent trip. But my favourite feature by far has to be the shoe compartment on the side that gives a separate lining from main zipper. No more need to grab an extra plastic bag for your shoes. I would definitely recommend this bag to friends or just anyone looking for a nice sleek and practical duffle.
Straps are so stiff that it closes in on itself
This is my second duffel of the same style. I loved my first! It was a mob color with brown Leather straps. This one is a black duffel with black straps, and the straps are so stiff and overpowering that all they want to do is bend into each other and close the opening. I thought over the last months they would loosen up, but they have not at all. When I set my duffel open on a surface, unzipped, it will not stay open, the 2U shaped straps close in on each other and interlock, it’s frustrating.
Item Falls Apart -
Item started falling apart after 2 years of use. Handle is ripping and no longer usable. Reached out about the "lifetime warranty" and was advised it is not covered because the warranty only covers whne "a product departs from its intended design" - so I suppose the product is literally designed to fall apart and force you to buy a new one. Do not buy this product expecting it to last or expect any sort of coverage out of the fake warranty.
It was a great price. The bag looks great. But it’s so, so stiff. The handles are extremely inflexible. Loading the bag is extremely frustrating because the handles fight each other to stand up straight (which forces the bag’s opening to close). If I could return and get a refund I would. I had hoped using the bag would soften the handles but so far, not at all. I’ll be looking for another bag.
Christmas Present
The duffle was the perfect Christmas present for my son who often takes short business trips from his home in DC. Whether flying, riding or driving, it provides enough volume for what he needs without squeezing it slacking. He is 26, and has been using a Hershel backpack since he was a freshman in college. So the addition of the Hershel duffle adds to his panache. Many thanks. jc
Handles keep flopping inward
I purchased the pink version of this duffle bag, a gorgeous shade of rose. It seemed simple and roomy enough, but the problem lies in how the handles are placed which makes them keep flopping inwards as you pack or unpack. This was annoying enough to stop me from packing more than the first item inside the bag and realizing it would not work for me. I immediately returned it,
Great bag for getaways
Love this bag, the shoe pocket is fantastic and fits a pair of my runners as well as flipflops. The padded shoulder strap is much appreciated when the bag is full and heavy. Zippers are great, just wish there was a pocket inside, but the one on the other end of the bag is nice to have even if it doesn’t close. But the best part is the autumn vibe floral pattern. :satisfied:
Zipper
I love my new Herschel duffle in raven crosshatch. I received it as a gift. I’ve only used it twice and the zipper has already broken in two separate places. I love the look and durability of the bag. But it’s basically useless now with a broken zipper :disappointed: would have given 5 stars, if it weren’t for the broken zipper.
