Have used TNF base camp medium duffel on more than a dozen trips since 2019 and it has never disappointed. Most trips have been tent camping in rugged situations—high desert, Oregon and Washington Cascades and Colorado Rockies—and for long durations (up to 5 weeks). The bag is easy to pack, extremely durable, extremely water resistant and easy to carry. I fully expect it to last as long as my outdoor adventuring does.
Bought for an Alaska trip where helicopter flight is involved and strict guideline is for soft sided non-rolling luggage. Wanted something water resistant (highly so). Initially wanted the base camp voyager but after seeing one and compared to the long-trusted base camp duffel elected to go with this (also, the only voyager in stock was too small). Trial packed almost everything that I will take with me and all seems to fit. D-opening is adequately wide to allow easy packing. I used packing cubes or large ziplock bags and despite the “round” shape of the duffel these all fit quite well. Even got my Keen Targee WP boots inside, though I might change over to my WP Altra Lone Peak shoes. Backpack straps seem ok; wouldn’t want to walk very far with them, but ok for short distances (eg, airport). I do wish there was another external zipper pocket on the other end, but the one that is there is good. We will see as the trip gets underway.
Same TNF base camp but now with a separate compartment at one end. Very handy for keeping contents separate without having to use packing cubes or other organizing containers. This is my fourth TNF base camp duffel and the first with the separate compartment.
This is our second medium size NF duffel bag. Perfect carryon size and I don’t have to roll it!!!! Through it on and get through airport traffic easy. Then it is water resistant for outdoor trips
Totally solid, durable zipper, throw it around and don't worry about it bag. Fits perfectly in various places in the vehicle and protects the contents.
This duffel bag/backpack is very well made. The lining will keep your clothes dry. Stitching looks solid so no falling apart. It is very durable.
Weather resistant, strong zippers. And the back pack straps make it ideal to carry if heavy
Just the right size I have the bigger one however it’s too large for overnight trips
Excellent Bag, durable and spacious. I like the extra pocket on the end of the bag.
