The outward quality of this shoe is very much on par with merrel as a brand. Solid shoe. However, the lack of cushioning in the sole of this shoe made it difficult for me to make much use of them. I’m experienced in hiking long distances and these blew up my feet worse than anything. Perhaps with inserts these would be fine, just understand without the heel and foot pad areas are going to be as hard as whatever you’re walking on.
This is my 4th pair. Great shoe with lots of support for hiking and everyday use.
Very comfortable and durable. Traction is great also.
