Merrell  Speed Strike 2 Trek Hiking Shoes - Men's

I ordered these in September 2025, but after trying them on I didn't wear them until November 2025. They were not used daily, but more as a stylist pair when I was out in the evenings. To my surprise a month later the shoelace loop that's attached to the shoe broke off on both right and left shoe. This had to be some form of a defect and unfortunately my options for returning the shoes had expired. I'm attracting pictures so the issues can be seen plus the shoes are in excellent condition with minimal wear which also can be seen in the pictures.

These are the most comfortable walking shoes that I have ever owned. I wear a custom orthotic insole and they work perfectly. (I went a half size up.) Since I walk while playing golf, the hiking tread makes them an ideal golf shoe.

Typical Merrill comfort - nice fit, large toe box good for thicker socks. Cannot get my foot into the shoe without loosening three-four eyes down for the shoelace. Might be an issue if you are not all that flexible.

The only reason I give Merrell over all a 4 is because unless the laces are double knotted the laces come undone no matter how tight the knot.

I have heavier weight Merrell hiking boots but got these to use everyday while traveling when I would be doing some hiking. They worked great for a rigorous hike on lava rock boulders in Hawaii and allowed me to pack lighter since they worked for everyday use.

Great shoe. I wear it walking and running (okay, jogging). Good turf shoe for softball. Plus it’s a good looking shoe for everyday wear. Seems to run a half size bigger than shown.

My second pair of Merrell's. I own about 20 pairs of shoes, but ever since these arrived in the mail two weeks ago they're the only shoes I've been wearing. They run slightly big

People liked my new shoes. Comfortable. I wear them walking dog. Good traction in snow. Have yet to use them backpacking but looking forward to it.

These sneakers are stylish, offer great support and fit well on my wide feel. They were comfortable just off the box and I highly recommend them.
