These are the worst
These shoes are garbage. The sole of the shoe is curved inward and the upper of the shoe it straight. The shoes I purchased say 7.5 on both but one shoe is bigger than the other. The weird twisted soles cause pinching in the big toe and pinky toe. You can feel the holes in the footbed. No cushion. It made my foot go numb. 0/10.
feel like walking on a cloud!
I purchased a 7.5, I normally wear a 7 but go up a half size in boots I may wear thicker socks with. The 7 prob would have fit better since I have slender feet and these seem to fit wide feet better. They are super comfortable. I purchased the brown option, they are cute, a bit puffy, make my feet look a bit bigger than they are, but for the comfort I don’t mind. They are good quality, make feet hot, better for a winter boot. The brown is more like a light cream color on top rather than tan. Good buy while on sale. I only spent $40 with sale and dividend so I’m happy.
LOSING PADDING AND STRETCHING OUT at midfoot
I have low volume, low arches. Length 10.9 " widest is 3.9" across balls of foot. Flat feet like pancakes not volume like sausages, lol. I ordered both men's 9.5 and women's sz11 in this style boots. Both fit, but the men's looked and felt totally different than the women's, the men's felt less cushioned, and lacing was through holes and hooks vs D Rings. I kept women's. These are a bit wide but laces work great to get midfoot snug. Ive used these in about 3 below freezing. My feet felt a tinge after 20 minute hike, but were fine. These boots have a higher platform so i think it helps keep my feet warmer than my daughter's oboz insulated boots i borrowed. I have to use my Orthotics bc these are flat inside, but i like that, bc my Orthotics give me a custom fit. The ankle support is probably not enough for someone needing ankle support, they are moderately flexible. For me its more gator, as it conform niceto m ankles and keeps out rocks, and brush if going Xcountry, off trail . Ive used these for light hiking thru easy terrain some volcanic outcrops and "spider sole" is holding up fine. No chucks coming out if cushioned soles, no tears in suede. But i actually think they're great for my local trails. Idk if they handle technical or high mileage hiking with heavy packs, there are insulated hiking boots more suited for heavy hiking, like Salomon or Oboz. Again i use these for low miles <5, easy to moderate terrain. Probably meant more for urban trails, but work fine out in Xcountry for me. And, yes, they look cute imo. BTW i Nikwax everything to ensure waterproof. UPDATE 6 WEEKS LATER: the suede has stretched out and im now using surgeons knot at 2 locations mid foot/arch and last hole to keep arches secured AND attempt to keep heels lifting. The padding in heel has flatten significantly that my heels are lifting up a lot if i walk at a quicker pace than dog smelling grassblades pace, lol. I've add 2 pair of thick wool socks, which definitely helped with heel not sliding, but now my toes feel squish, SMH. Note i had been wearing smartwool summer weight crew socks, and these boots fit slightly wide but the nifty teva lacing worked great and still does bc i can use thd surgeons knot to still get snug in arches. But now, HEEL PADDING is a PROBLEM and the collar padding is also flat and now pokes my calves even through the added extra thick wool and smartwool socks and 2 pairs winter thick leggings (1/2")! But on the good my feet are dry and warm in 3" snow. Feeling cold toes now that its in the teens and minus zero in snow. LOSING PADDING AND STRETCHING OUT at midfoot . Took 2 stars off. Not sure to return or accept going at snail pace and find different insulated boots that were made more for hiking? Heavy sigh i hate shoe shopping.
