Great winter hiking and sport boots!
I’ve been looking to replace 30+ year old winter boots for awhile. I vacillated between two pair that were functionally close but yet very different before deciding on these Merrills. I immediately took them out for a weekend of cold winter fun. Hiked in the morning during a steady snowfall in about 15 degrees and in the afternoon, went fat tire biking in the snow. Wore with merino wool liners and merino wool socks and my feet stayed dry and warm the entire day. Two hikes tomorrow and I’m sure they will continue to work well. I am very happy with my choice!

Don’t waste your time or money
Even while wearing 109% wool socks, these boots were NOT warm in the snow, and the tread is not trustworthy/ I slipped while hiking in them in both wet and dry conditions. Do not at all recommend. I returned them today.

Nepal Three Passes - Winter Trek

Phenomenal boot for cold weather. Trekked Everest region in winter, crossed passes and glaciars, down to sub zero Fahrenheit temps. Worked well with crampons. Stayed warm and dry. Sized up a full size to accommodate extra sock and swelling at altitude.

Great product buts runs at least 1 size small

Had to order multiple boots till found my size. Priduct appears to be constructed well and very durable. However, I would plan to buy 1 to 1/2 sizes larger than your norm for a proper fit with thick socks.

Great traction

Update to my previous review. I’ve had these for about a month and really like them. Both pairs of Merrell boots I’ve owned have run small, so I had to size up by half. They’re pretty light, and I’ve worn them in 18° weather with warm, comfortable feet. These are definitely NOT for walking long distances (a mile or two). They're pretty stiff, and I got shin splints after walking every other day for a week. However, they deliver on traction for icy sidewalks/parking lots. They're just not the sneaker/boot I had hoped for.

Best waterproof and warm shoes I have found

I bought these to visit Finland’s Lapland and the high was 20 degrees Fahrenheit. These shoes kept me very warm day and night. They are very comfortable too! Their waterproof quality is the best I have seen. I highly recommend them!

Good Warmth and Wicking

I haven't tried them in wet weather/water yet. This review is based on cold protection and comfort. They did very well with cold protection and did not retain moisture. I also use really good socks, too. The comfort was good. The first few hours was great. But after 8 hours the ache sets in no matter what brand. I live in Louisiana so i only need them occasionally, but for several hours of standing. I am happy with my purchase and these boots are great for what i need them.

Toasty warm and comfortable

I’m wearing them for the first time, and I love them. It’s 24° up here in Massachusetts and we got a dusting of snow last night, so I use them to shovel my driveway and then take my dog for a walk. My feet are toasty warm and they feel great. They are a hair smaller than I would’ve liked, but since they’re so warm, this means I’ll just wear thinner socks with them instead of my usual thick hiking socks.

Great boots

I actually bought these boots for a trip to NYC right after the last blizzard. They were fantastic walking through snow, ice and huge puddles as it warmed up. I clocked 8.5 city miles one day and my feet were super comfy! I found the sizing to be on the smaller side and had to go up a 1/2 size from my other Merrills. Looking forward to wearing them on an actual trail.
